  1. {Shrugs} Can't pick on Monet. I mean what with him being dead and all, and you being the one that posted the picture...
  2. Mea culpa. It's hot enought to melt TNT     Better? I believe we finished our game - a draw. But I will gladly send you a CMAKIE Demo scenario. Say the word.
  3. Huh. We had on small picture. I think we got caught in the crossfire. I blame AXE and his one piccy!!!
  4. Where would you like us to cut the thread and start a new one - the old standard was 300. 250 now? We may be maggots, but we're considerate maggots!
  5. It's hot. But you already knew that. Maggot.   [ November 24, 2003, 06:05 PM: Message edited by: Snarker ]
  6. That really does look like a misprint. Maybe they meant 12" of paper plates. In any case, the best side of a .50 to be on is the side the primer faces.
  7. What losses? I'm only playing Teddy at the moment, and he's too much of a gentleman to try to win.
  8. GRARRRGHGHHH!!!! Now I'm waiting for the full version to come knocking at my door. The demo is going to be played out shortly.
  9. Seems my ISP is trying to slow that down a bit. Did the last turn get to you? It's 8:58 here. So it what? almost 13:00 in Merry Olde?
  10. It's an honor. Now if he called me French...
  11. Two things I've noticed: A vehicle fire spread to the brush in the desert scenario. I've never seen this in BO or BB. In the Italian scenario the first time I started it as the Germans I had a 'no fog of war' view to every Ami unit despite 'extreme FOW' being chosen. When I started the game, the AI apparently knew where I was also. It pounded my hidden AT gun to dust.
  12. Spoiler below .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I got the Tiger (Early) in the sights of a Sherman - flank shot at about 250. A partial upper hull penetration (right side), then a lower hull penetration and he bailed. Doesn't seem too unrealistic for the distance / angle involved. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
  13. Another question on the optics. In CMBB the German optics degraded with every step up in game temperature. Has another level of optics degradation / temperature been added because of additional heat in the desert?
  14. I'll never mock cricket again. I mean, really. Curling is shuffleboard without all the fun and interesting stuff, right?   [ November 22, 2003, 02:53 PM: Message edited by: Snarker ]
  15. Flee, Soddball! You have angered our Queen! I would not be you for all...well, for much of anything, actually, whether Queen Emma was angry with you or not. Disgusting thought, being Soddball. Makes me feel nauseous. In any case, Soddball, your soft, dangly bits, which we can only qualify as your 'manhood' because of tradition, shall soon be in my keeping, kept in a soft, supple leather wallet with the monogram SDB (for Soddball's Dangly Bits). I shall extract this 'item' from you by means of a game of CMAK, as well as my various posts to you. My posts, of course, will be filled with panache, wit, and audacity. Your counter posts, equally of course, will reek of boiled cabbage prepared in small, filthy flats by slope browed descendants of criminals too useless and incompetent to have been Transported. One post at a time, combined with your ultimate defeat in CMAK, I will strip away any claims you may have to 'maleness', let alone manhood. When you are finally, by means of my wit and game play, left cowering alone in a corner, whimpering and running a hand over the smooth, downy patch of fawn coloured fluff that once marked your gender, I will write a poem in your 'honour', describing your reduction to the status of the Goodaler's Eunuch Vizier. I will post the poem in the Peng Challenge Thread, of course, and not in this tacky little 'lost boys' clubhouse, where it will serve as both a mark of my triumph, as well as a monument to your new status as 'Head Boy' of the Cheery Waffle thread. I will, of course, be posting a copy of this post in the Peng Challenge, so that all the punctilio are observed. If I don't, the Justicar starts going off on us, again, and this just makes things easier. </font>
  16. I agree. I lost sight of a Sherman from less than 40m because of dust. It's actually pretty neat. I believe 'ground shimmer' (what is the proper term?) is also accounted for in the loss of LOS info.
  17. I know, picky picky, but it jarred me out of my euphoria and made me think I was back on the Russian steppes. Americans are awfully schizophrenic about the use of the metric system, but in WWII a .50 cal is a .50 cal is a .50 cal. Was this in CMBO also? 18. Yes it does. Should make it easy for you to pick someone out!
  19. You'd get away with it if you did both at the same time. I'd pick one of the nudniks that laughs at jokes they don't understand. You can never rid the world of too many toffee-nosed idjits.
  20. I can't accept the award based on the trenches and placement of the troops. They were padlocked or already optimally placed. But, I will accept the award for for my one truly gamey contribution. I would like to thank the Axademy for this honor. You see, I turned that bunker around. It was padlocked in place facing seaward... BWAAAAHAAAAHAAAA!!!!! I am the epitome of an arch-gamey-nemesis!!!!   [ November 21, 2003, 10:37 AM: Message edited by: Snarker ]
