Kettler: Lucky? Heheh, you are right, this game has started very well. Already killed one veteran SPW 250/9 Halftrack and SP Gun?, both with first shot. The other veteran SPW 250/9 is buttoned and hiding in the woods. It seems that my crack sniper did something to them. I have had no major losses so far. Keeping my fingers crossed. But the battle has not really started yet. Still the early victories have an impact to the global morale...
Galanti: Got a Axis Major Victory, 76-24. Another win for Germans. In this game I had one AT gun that did nothing, one Sherman that did nothing, and one tank destroyed that did nothing. Also my artillery was much worse than his (my fault). The only unit that tried to do something was the Priest, but even that got killed. Finally my units surrendered. Disappointing game this was. Fog...

I'm back! Been a few days already.
Kettler: PBEM Helper says that I sent you a turn 15.12.2001. I have been waiting your turn since. I will resend it now.
Galanti: Is getting a huge victory...
-
Too old. Next question please!
-
Galanti: Killed my two tanks, one destroyer and one Sherman. Destroyer with artillery and Sherman with assault gun. They were completely useless. My remaining Priest shot at his assault gun, damaged it or at least killed the commander. His Panzer IV? is aiming at my Priest. Not looking good at all, I'm afraid that my troops surrender soon.
Kettler: Is away?

Now we got one bottle of Italian wine. It has "Merlot Cabernet" on it.
Galanti: I am losing this one and badly! I don't like this fog scenario at all!
Kettler: I have not heard about him for a while.
I am soon going to my two week vacation, unable to play CMBO.

Red blend: Blend of different grape varieties? Usually the blend of the best grapes there are?
I have usually about 10 bottles of wine (mostly red) in my "cellar". 99% of them (hehe) are Spanish, but now I have one from Greece and one from France. "Cabernet Sauvignon" sounds familiar, but I didn't find it on any of my bottles. I found "Rioja", "Crianza", "Torres" and other things but perhaps they mean a different thing. The oldest bottle was 1992.
Anyway, it's Friday and I drink beer usually.

I heard also that the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 has even bigger problems than CMBO with WinXP and the latest 23.11 drivers. I have ASUS 21.81 btw.
-
Yes, thanks, I found out the Alt+Tab trick already, it was not possible to enter the file name in file save dialog otherwise. I don't know if the problem is in drivers or WinXP, or DirectX 8.1. I guess that it is WinXP, perhaps it does the painting differently from any previous Win versions. Hope that CMBB has a real file save dialog as well.
-
Kettler: So we are using our own units!
Galanti: He said in the beginning that I am going to trash him, so I just had to prove him wrong.

Any fix for the Windows XP nVidia GeForce problem (transparent white graphics and black file save dialog)?

How about the year and month?

I see... so if I want to have a chance to get a huge victory, I buy lousy units, and wish that you get them??
Also if the forces are switched, then both of us know exactly what the other player has...
I don't know the meaning of "pucker", but this sounds funny enough, so let's do it!

A CALL for participants... I see that I am late already! Anyway I wouldn't have a chance if Ari is here as well... OK I lost to Jarmo as well.
-
Red blend... I know red wine and white wine, and I know about rose wine, but red blend... is it the rose wine then??

Galanti: Our battle is proceeding one turn per day.
Kettler: Has still not contacted me. This tournament will last at least about 75 days after our game starts...
-
-
Galanti: Is away...
Kettler: You are my last opponent...
-
But still not only two files per PBEM turn...
-
Galanti: We are fighting in a fog, have not really seen each other yet. He is bombing at my supposed positions.
Mick: We are close to the end. He finally decided to attack with that tank destroyer (SP gun?), and killed my Churchill with the first shot. I guess that my 152 mm upper hull plate was not enough. Meanwhile I am bombing his and it seem my own positions as well. I don't like this British artillery at all. It is very slow and unaccurate.

As for my Dorosh game... Treeburst has yet to post the results but I won 97-3. That should improve my average.

Huh!

Mick: His attack has been pushed back, and I am now bombing his side.
Galanti: I sent my units to Treeburst.

The algorithm for doing each turn would be:
1. View the replay if the turn file has it
2. Plot moves for the next turn
3. If the turn file had the moves for the other player, then generate the turn
This really seems trivial.

I buy often one crack sniper, and I have noticed that they very frequently shock enemy tanks with the first shot. It is nice to see the tank stop for a turn or two.

Kettler is firing some huge artillery, I believe that they are not rockets, though. The battle has now begun...
