Hey Maximus , no offense taken
Maybe i did not explain clearly what i was meaning to say regarding the bmps and such( i was in a dazed condition from 3 hrs of bashings with my first live CM play )
I have an imac with only 6 Mb of VRAM . I loaded it up with mods , grass , terrian and such. Came the time i wanted to try out a new mod . I used MCM3 to load it into my Data folder. MCM3 confirmed that i had converted to the new mod. I started up a QB to see the said mod.....but it was not there. I stripped out all the mods i was using , reverting back to stock textures.
I then used the mod manager again and this time i had my mod in all its glory.
This lead me to think that the game reverted back to the original texture when i tried to do it first time.
Hence my line of thinking above.
I am not familar with how a pc works so i was just presuming....( silly mistake )
It was not my intention to mislead anybody in any way. So i hope this clears it up
btw ...thanks for posting the above pix....i WILL get the hang of this confounded pix hosting one day

I'm not sure Gunsmithcat. Have you tried taking some of your mods out to free up some VRAM ?? . MB if you have a lot of mods going your system reverts back to the original CM JgPz when you try to run the new mods. Try just loading the new bmps 3380.bmp to 3387.bmp
Are you using a pc ? What sort of video card have you got ?
email me if you are still having problems.

Hi jk MkIII , i am dismayed that you cannot open up the zip files. I used DropZip from Aladdin Systems to compress them. I zipped and unzipped the mod files umpteen times to test them before i sent them to CMHQ ,to see if there were any coruptions. I asked Matt to email me if he could not get them to open up properly . Matt never mentioned any problems regarding unzipping.
I will see if i can do anything for you later

PawBroon , thanks for your kind comment, i appreciate it
i am happy that i was able to make a half decent stab at the Jgpz IV as it was a wee bit of an "Ugly Duckling" , due i think to the time constraints on BTS when they were making the game. Just glad that it did make it into the game in the end.
When i get the time i hope to do a few more different cammo schemes for the Jgpz IV , just so as the CM family will have a bit of a wider choice. But first i have a few more mods to do before then .....whats that Master ?? , oops sorry i gtg back into the MOD MINES....geez no rest for the wicked .

Hi TwoSheds , i would just like to comment on your statement regarding the % of completion a mod may seem to be released at. Like all things in life you learn new stuff constantly....it never stops.
All the mod authors are learning their trade , each at their own pace, which usually boils down to the amount of time that they can spare from "Real Life".
People , depending on their ability will take different lenghts of time to know everything everything , if they even ever get to that stage. The mod authors have a desire to share the fruit of their labour with their fellow CM breathern , but are put under a constant application of gentle pressure from the very same people who are looking for something new via requests for mods.
This may partly answer your question of why in your honourable opinion mods are released that are updated later.
This "early release" does have a positive side in that constructive suggestions can flow back to the author for the improvement of the mod , who given time can release a great mod.
On a personal note as a junior mod author i can say that i do test my mods 100% with a very pinickity tester and critic( you know who you are )
Even when he gives the OK i still revisit the mod to see if i can improve it any further. I know there are certain things that i would like to do...but i dont have the know how yet...because i am still learning..... and i hope never to stop learning.
At the end of the day as Croda has said it is down to personal choice weather you download a mod.....but it would be a sad day if we did not have that choice.

Hi lads , thanks for your kind comments...and Jeff...a REAL BIG THANK U...for doing this for the pix...nice to know that people out there?here will give a helping hand
Now as for release i am hoping to send on to CMHQ tomorrow night...i will ask Matt to up load it to the untested section.
In regards to the mods...both versions Zimmerit and Un-zimmerit are hi-res...spent the last month doing them.Ther are 2 gun options for the JgPz IV L / 48.....with and without muzzle brake.
Both mods also have 4 skirt options... 1Full armoured skirt with light weathering.
2 Full armoured skirt with light weathering and light damage.
3 One skirt missing and damage.
4."Invisible" skirt for the JgPz IV L/70 Lang...this simulates the total loss of all the skirts.I have seen pix of the vehicle with out so i put it in
The Un -Zimm mod has tracklinks on the front bow section....Zimm version does not.
There is also a second TOP bmp with the Zimm version....the second TOP bmp has heavier coloured verticle demarcation lines.....i prefer that version on my 6MB VRAM imac...my bud who has 16MB video card prefers the lighter version. So i am thinking of including it as an option ...let the end user make up their own mind.
So fingers crossed
its back to the "MOD MINES" for me

Geez , there is me thinking i had a pretty good idea about all german units in the war..no i find myself confronted by a top secret unit of HamsterBurgers trained in the arts of submersible demolition
Must watch out for the Schwimmcod-jagers at the next river crossing
Thanks guys for the update and the belly laugh.

Hi Alfie , you might try a book by James Lucas titled <Battle Group! German Kampfgruppen Action of WWII.
ISBN 0-304-35455-4.
One of its chapters describes the actions of KG Krause(200 men) of the 12th SS HJ Div on the approaches to Falise town and its subsequent last stand. It has 13 pages describing their battles with the Canadians 6th Infantry Brigade , 2 Armour Sqds and AT and Arty assets.
Its a good read and give you an idea of the steel inferno that was Falise.

Great to hear that there is hopefully going to be more vehicles in CM2 Kwazy , i would like to support Slapdragons idea for multi-mod slots too.
As couple of ???? now.
1. Seeing as CM2 will be bigger than CMBO , will the game be released on multi-CDs or DVD......
If we have the increased storage space will there be room for 2 side skins....so as we can have proper tac numbers on the Panzers ???
2. Will there be any improvments to the way the tracks are designed...so as to get a less sharp shape....ie wrap around the sprocket more realistically...can the "track" bmp be made into smaller links and then "stitched " to an invisible thread which goes around the sprocket/idler
Just a few thoughts
