  1. It happens all the time. The "flaw" that you are talking about is the very thing that makes this game great TAC AI. Look at it this way from the Shermans point of view.

"Well Commander I had Johnson drive the tank into the city and buttoned her up good watchin for snipers. I was cautious because I had heard there was Panzers around. Sure enough we go past a blasted blind turn and their sits one of those damned Tigers of theirs. Damn Kraut missed though with his surprise shot. Johnson hit the brakes and slammed her in reverse. Damn I think Lewis was hitting the smoke before I even ordered it. We are lucky to be alive."

See now try to find that in any other game. And Tac AI works for you as well.

  2. I want I need I must have, but then again I must wait. BTS if you see this, please do not make the same mistake other companies do with their titles. When you already have a great game it is all about evolution not revolution. Better graphics great, better sound woohoo. But remember that in the end the combat engine and design got the game it accolades.

  3. I think this discussion illustrates the kind of players that permeate CM. We all seem to be aware that "gamey" is bad, which I think says a lot for the players of this game. Do I think that the crew conundrum hurts the game? No not at all and I think that is what we need to realize. If we are nit picking over this stuff then we are playing one impressive game. I know people have thanked the designers for the game but I want to thank them for the game that spawns so much discussion. In other games we would be complaining about the AI or LOS, but in CM we are mad because a crews who we may or may not use (depending on personal tactics) might not be properly represented (again personal opinion). Gee what a rough gaming life.

  4. I have found that the Jeep and the Flamethrower go very well together. I was playing an mission and after suppressing an area where a bunker resided with about 4 squads I rush the jeep along the one side of the bunkers field of fire (the bunker itself was taking a lot of fire) and managed to get along side the bunker. The flamethrower jumped out moved to about 5m and away we go. The .50 cal on the jeep was added insurance while the flamer was doing his job. I have been able to use this tactic multible times with a moderate to good success rate. You just have to use the jeeps advantage (speed) with the flamer disadvatage (speed). Great way to get at bogged assault guns too.

  5. I use the rushing tactic quite often. I am practicing with British inf battalions and have always had a knack against tanks. What I do is use a Vickers to button them or use 2 inch motars and the pop smoke around the tank and run my infantry onto them like I would to embark them. Of course this is from the rear after a lot sneaking. Usually the infantry will pepper the hull with grnades and such and the crew abandons the tank. Of course as with all dangerous tactics this DOES NOT always work and people will get killed. Anyways that is my 2 cents.
