  1. Umm, i'd prefer Germans because of the panzerfausts in the infantry units and the good balance (armour/armament) in most German tanks. But most important is knowledge i think. If you're very familiar with the material used by either side, both sides can give you the edge needed to claim victory. Oh and my mother was no hamster i think...and if you claim she was one more time, i'll unclog my nose in your general direction you son of a silly person. ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
  2. (takes a deep breath). The U.S. and the U.N...hmm....is there a link at all? No offense but if the U.S. participates in U.N. operations, they do so practically solo. Look at Bosnia. They didn't participate (on a scale anyone cares to mention) in the U.N. peacekeeping operations there until the nations who did started to get a grasp on the situation. And then what happens....it turns NATO. If the U.S. joins a U.N operation they run the show, therefor it's not that untrue to say any U.N. operation which includes the U.S is a U.S run operation (militarily speaking anyway). If anyone wants to join any army, but doesnt want to be send away...dont join in the first place. I'm a soldier, no politician....so all i can say is that from a military point of view, the U.N. sucks imensely...again, Bosnia proves that. To conclude i want to this off my chest: I think the U.S will never leave the U.N because it wouldn't want to be the sole country responsible for a military operation half way across the globe. And let's face it, if anyone threatens the U.S.'s economy in any way action will be taken.
  3. Thanks Panzer! Sounds like there are more people worried about this then...goooood
  4. Sorry if this post sounds a bit negative, but i really think there should be more winter wash models of armoured vehicles. As of now, the only vehicle texture i downloaded is Stephan Galambos's Panther A. This texture accurately shows the way a tank crew would give it's tank a wash with the means they had at hand. Congrats to Stephan on a job well done, but what's up with that German cross on the sides dude? I have in my posession a lot of photographic material of German panzers on the eastern front, but most of them show winter camo that was applied by the crew themselves...showing a vague camo underneath. I know quite some panzers came out of the factiry with a neat white paint already on em, but still i'm getting the idea that those were not the majority. So let's get rid of all those neat white n green (or whatever) camo's and get the battle weary, watery white coatings on the road!! ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
  5. Well i don;t know about you Mr. Johnson, but i play the imperial march anyway . ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
  6. Well....i could be mistaken, but if i had the chance i'd take out a halftrack with a mortar. I agree that mortar shells do not resemble a football, but then, i'm not a footy fan and occasionally mortar shells look kinda big. ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
  7. Ok, let's say you people are all German sub-commanders. You have a force pool from which you should pick the units that will fight the coming battle. Now correct me if i'm wrong, but if HQ tells you you need to advance your forces towards say....Villers Bocage...the first thing you would do is grab a map and start studying the map right? So in all honesty...if the terrain would be a surprise...would that that be realism? I think the answer to that would be: nope...that would be amateurism (is that a word anyway?). ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
  8. Guys i'm no grognard, but am i completely wrong if i say this camo is actually no camo at all? I wouldnt venture out with a Tiger that looks yellow/gold-ish if my life depended on it....and in WW2...it would have. *standing head heaved, arms spread..waiting for someone to flame him* ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
  9. Love the pics Matt, been a while since i'v seen anyone nearly as sick as me . Just curious....have you been to the panzer museum in Munster as well? ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
  10. Do i sense a cardinal who cant beat the Germans without some secret super-weapon!? FETCH THE COMFY CHAIR!!!!!
  11. First off i'd like to say i love your work Bill! But you know what's to come when people give you complements at the start right? Right....complaints. I'm in the middle of the Arnhem bridge operation and found that it is not really cooperating with me. First time i played it, it was with the Brits...all went well...and that's the weird thing. I won the operation with 25 KIA's. I'm sure it should be possible to hold that dang bridge, but this was a walk in the park! Then i thought: "oh well..let's try the Jerries". Well....maybe i'm a super-soldier, but i charged the bridge, secured it's entrance and in the following battle kicked the Brits back towards the edge of the map. Imagine the feeling (and xxx rated words flying around the room) when i discovered that in the following battle i had to charge the bridge again...and again....and again. I was there...the thing was not only secure, but so was a large portion of Arnhem itself. What is going on here? Then i have a question about the German forces in Arnhem...i always thought the Germans had heavier equipment (like Panthers) available there. But then, i'm not an expert . So now i hear you thinking:" hey! you told me you liked my work!!". Well i still do, i just got frustrated and thought i'd ask you what's up with this....thanks in advance Ubermac, lord of the bridge. ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
  12. K first this...i think the CC series were very good, i spend months climbing the ladder and had a great time doing so. But now CC's master has arrived, CC cannot come close (close..heh) to CM's realism and i think any wargamer who isnt after realism should stick to Command & Conquer. As for CC4, the engine is the best of the CC series, so it had the potential to be the best CC in the row, but it wasn't..why? Because you didn't have the oportunity to buy units...this might seem a minor glitch to some of you out there, but in fact it takes out a lot of the tactics that made say CC2 such a joy to play! Then CC5....why oh why should i go for CC5? I haven't seen or heard much about it, but let's face it..it's going to be the CC4 engine with a few tweaks in units...at least that's what i'm expecting. I'll keep my money in my piggy-bank and save it for CM2 instead ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
  13. Once upon a time a guy named Ubermac posted a message by the name of "Tigers, no spank you". Little did he know this subject would turn into a stat-war. Can't we all just get along? =) Let's put some fuel on the fire....how about the Tiger's 88mm...it seems to miss a lot, even with a crack crew! I'm damn sure a crack Tiger crew could hit a stationary target at 1km with every shot they would fire....either that or the game Panzer Elite is complete crap. ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
  14. I'm in! With a name like mine i'd have to be Axis though...that and the fact i can spell nahverteitigungswaffe. ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
  15. My God, that should've been enough to ruin the rest of your day! ------------------ And remember kids....dressing up like Hitler in school, is NOT cool!
