  1. I'm not very good at tank battles, but did anyone here play, and win "von Lauchert" playing USSR? If so, how the hell did you manage. It's impossible. The Panthers pick my tanks off one by one.

I shouldn't actually say impossible, since I've only tried once, PBEM, but I can't see how it would be done...

  2. No. The problem is that the dialogue-boxes have the wrong colour, as well as the background colour in the briefing screen. All text on the maps are also wrong. For example, town names are green in CMBO, hit info is dark dark blue in CMBB.

However, if you (I), ALT-TAB back and forth once, everything works perfectly. But if I ALT-TAB one more time, it reverts back to faulty colours. And this time it's unfixable. Somebody else with the same graphics card, had the exact same problem, so I assumed the problem was with all FX5200s. And, yes, I use the latest drivers and the latest DirectX.

  3. I just learned through the forum (excellent, thank you) that I could solve my wrong-colors-problem by using ALT-TAB. It works, even though it turns out it works only once, but still.

Anyway, does anybody have a clue WHY this problem occurs? It's not acceptable and I hope that NVIDIA (and/or Battlefront, prob NVIDIA) are doing something about it.

  4. Now the weirdest thing happened. With CMBB it worked once, but then it reverted back to not working, when I tried again. The thing is now, that this time, when it worked, my monitor "clicked" twice. It clicks like that when it changes the number of colours and frame rate, but only ONCE. Maybe it has something to do with the graphics driver CM uses. Switching back and worth, both with driver, and the hardware setting didn't help though... :(

  5. I believe I've read something about this a long time ago, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I got a new computer today, with a new graphics card, NVIDIA FX5200. The game runs smoothly, but in the briefing screen, what used to be white background is now turquoise, and same applies to all text in the game window. (time, turn, etc.) The names of towns and such in CMBO anyway, are green, and the dialogue boxes are also all screwed up, colorwise.

The problem occurs with both CMBO and CMBB.

Does anybody know why? I use all the latest drivers as well as DirectX 9a.

  6. No it's not really a bug, but it's an error in the game engine.

What I mean is that tanks, when they can't actually see the enemy, always aim their turret forward in the driving direction. However, often, you, and the tank crew, know that there's an enemy tank around the corner. The tank SHOULD therefore keep it's turret aimed that way despite it not actually seeing the tank at that very moment. (so that it can fire immediately when turning the corner, instead of having to wait for the turret to turn around, and possibly get shot at first.)At least it should be possible for you to order it to, don't you agree?

  7. It's me again... we tried one more (for the 5th time), and then it worked, all of a sudden.

I still have no idea what the problem was/is though.

One odd thing is that I got to see all the action, whereas he only got to give orders. Every time we reloaded the autosave, it had moved forward one turn...

  8. A friend of mine and me have been playing a TCP/IP game now for 27 turns, and all of a sudden this problem emerges.

Every time, my friend is finished downloading the computed action sequence, nothing happens... the game stops on his computer, but I get to see the whole minute. Then the computer realises the connection is lost.

Does anybody have any idea what's happened?

  9. It has happened to me a couple of times, very annoying. Both times they were scenarios downloaded from the Internet, so I figured it was something the creator did wrong. Not sure though.

It appears on the scenario I'm playing now, called "A river runs through it"

  10. I just watched two of my M36 Jacksons kill each other, at the exact same second... I could hardly believe it.

They were standing right next to each other, when they spotted an infantry squad each, one coming from the left, one from straight ahead. One Jackson opened fire at the one ahead, the other at the one coming from the left. As both squads were fleeing, they kept running towards and passing the Jacksons, and my Jacksons kept firing. When they were really close, both Jacksons fired at once, still on one squad each, causing both Jacksons at once to become abandoned. Also when I read the Unit info they read 1 M36 Jackson destroyed...

Can debris really knock out an M36?
