  1. No. There will still be time to submit AARs after the last scores come in. How much time? I don't know yet, but the number is dependent on the number already submitted. If we are waiting on only 5-10 then a week is good, but if its 30-40? That is why I am suggesting that people use their time constructively and work on them now, and if possible submit them early. Preliminary scores will be announced a day or two after the last score comes in. I first have to post the scenario scores here and allow everyone to check and make sure I have the correct data. Then its a simple process of entering the data into the modified Nabla formula. This will give us a rough idea of the leaders in each section. Nevertheless, the official score can not be determined until we factor in the AAR bonuses. See above

  3. A few words on AARs... When the final scores are submitted we will want to know who the winners are, as well as tranisition into the finals as quickly and smoothly as possible. With that in mind, I strongly recommend that you work on your AARs as you play, rather than wait to finish your games and then try and cram 5 AARs at once. Even having a running rough draft, in which you enter a few sentences after each turn, will help you a great deal in the long run. It spreads the assignment out over several weeks, as opposed to several days, as well as allows you to jot down certain events while they are still fresh in your mind. There are several advantages to this, the most obvious being it speeds things up for all involved. The actual scores calculation takes very little time. Its really nothing more than entering data into a spreadsheet and having the modified Nabla formula spit out a score. The 'holdup' is in the AARs. Consider that each AAR has to be evaluated individually. There are 72 players. Multiply by 5 each and we are talking around 360 AARs. Without these I cannot announce the winners, as the scores are not complete until we add in the AAR bonuses. So, my question to you all is... When the final scores are in would you like to see me announce the winners, or would you like to hear me say I am still waiting on 30-40 AARs?

  6. As long as your units have LOS to the surrender monkey it will be visible, and listed as 'captured'. The moment your units lose LOS it disappears. I suspect thats what happened, but won't know until I see the movie. Send it on over if you like

  9. Rangers certainly are. Check the editor from Sept '43 to Jan / Feb '44.
  10. Their current project is called 'Board Admin'. In it, you assume the role of a BBS admin and try to maintain order and civility for 1 hour. It is closely modeled on the GF boards, but the current version is frustrating to play, especially when you load up the 'Clash of the Politicians', 'Valley of WMD' or 'Far from over-Iraq' scenarios. The A.I. is prone to idiotic and self destructive behavior, forcing most testers to hit Alt-Ban within the first 5 minutes of play.
  11. Sure, but keep a tight lid on it. Only you and your opponent.

  14. How does one accurately depict the commonwealth practice of LOB in CM? For instance, take a full strength CW infantry battalion 1940 model assigned to an attack. Would it have all 4 rifle companies on the line, but each platoon set at 80% strength? Or all platoons at full strength, but one platoon per company removed? Or only 3 full strength companies on the line?
  15. John, The road in which you are referring to is not paved. It is nothing more than a dirt track in the desert, thus the huge dust clouds you see in your movie. Sergio
  16. So true. The closer we get to the deadline the less time we have to wait for AWOLs - and - the quicker we need replacements to step in.

  19. This site shows a total of 600 M3s (does not differentiate between Grants or Lees) being delivered by the start of El Alamein. [ March 12, 2004, 12:12 PM: Message edited by: Kingfish ]

  21. You have assault boats in the scenario, which the A.I. cannot handle. You can either play the side that has the boats vs the A.I., or against another human.
  22. May I suggest to the allied player that he choose and alternate location from which to cross the river. The one depicted seems so...oh, help me out, What's the word I'm looking for here?

  24. Still too early. Once you finished all your games you can ask to have the scores spreadsheet e-mailed to you, but to get a really accurate comparison its best to wait until all the scores are in.
