you name it.

The same instant the gun was abandoned, everyone stopped shooting.

If you have units that are using DF against it then they certainly have direct LOS, so they'll know once the gun was destroyed.

However, if you were just using area fire against the woods then they will continue blasting away until told otherwise. The same holds true for arty (both on board and off).

  2. I've come up with 2 good reasons why PBEM is my choice.

    1) Real life commitments and responsiblities. Just like Frenchy, i too am a husband and father of three, and we don't have the luxury of setting aside an hour or two of uninterrupted free time for gaming. Even if that time did become availible, it isn't something i can reserve a week in advance.

    2) With PBEM, you get to play people from around the world. Right now i'm playing a very intense game with a friend in Egypt. By the time i get home from work, unwind, eat dinner, family time, and then put the kids to bed it is 9:30-10PM at night, which puts it around 3am in Cairo.

Also consider that some of the overseas folks have to pay per min/hour to be on-line. You're not going to find too many that will stay up that late and pay that much just to burn thru a scenario.

Yes, it's in the manual. In fact it made mention that it was a standard tactic for The Germans to brew up KO'd allied vehicles, due to the fact that the allies had excellent repair and recovery capabilities.

  4. This probably sounds like a stupid question, but isn't AAA fire an automatic thing once Jabos are overhead?

I'm playing a PBEM game in which i placed a single 20mm flak gun about 200 meters to the left of a very important asset, and a quad 20mm HT mounted gun about 100 meters to the right. Neither gun was engaged and both had excellent LOS all around.

Sure enough, A jabo could be heard circling overhead for several turns before making its dive and blasting the hell out of my important asset. During that time neither gun did anything to engage the jabo frown.gif

Was there anything i could have done? Or was it just bad luck?

    DOH!!!

    Best keep that to yourself.

BTW, e-mail me if you've haven't ordered already . I was sent an extra copy by mistake and Steve would rather i sell it than return it. You can have it sent next-day rather than wait 2+ weeks for delivery. My e-mail address is in my profile.

  6. Greetings all,

Having just finished a blind PBEM game of one of the pre-made scenarios, I wanted to ask a question about "pad-locked" units during set-up.

My question is: can you un-lock them to take advantage of different set-up deployments? The reason i ask is that having played a game with pad-locked units, i now know what and where these units are if i was to start another game.

Doesn't that ruin any FOW for subsequent games?

    Your thoughts?

I'm very relucatant to buy a copy from across the pond. God knows how long it would take to arrive!

Well, that would depend on what shipping method you choose smile.gif

Check out my post titled "CM for sale" then e-mail me if you're interested (check my profile for the address). You can have it sent over priority mail if you like, or you can take your place in the long line of orders and wait wink.gif

  8. No, this is not a copy from one of the pirate sites, nor did i burn a CD from my own copy. This is a legitimate copy of CM w/ manual. By some weird twist of fate i ended up with 2 CDs, 2 manuals and a poster!

I spoke with Steve and he prefers that i handle it at my end rather than return it. So, is anyone interested?

The price is $45 + shipping (you choose the method of shipment). You will get the CD and manual ( I keep the poster wink.gif )

If you are interested please e-mail me at my home address (check my profile).

  9. In some cases kills won't show if the 'Killing' unit can't confirm it's results. This is why you will see MG teams hammer away at a unit from far away and not record anything, same thing for mortar crews.
