  1. I just reloaded this classic and would like to try some PBEM games. I usually try to do around 750 to 1250 pts on random maps. If interested, email me at : jonp@tampabay.rr.com Thx
  2. I just got back to my PBEM game and the ammo is PG-7V Heat. Is that something that is just ammo and I need a special gun for? Or is that something I can pick up and use (all my guys have only rifles) Thx jonpfl
  3. I am at work so I am not sure what they are called (I am playing the Syrians). Is it possible that I am taking rounds that could be used by the vehicle (are they interchangable?). Sorry for the newbie type questions but I really do not know that much about current weapons/vehicles. So, anything you can acquire is only ammo? There are no weapons you can acquire? Thx jonpfl
  4. All, If I have units in a tank/personnel carrier, is it always worthwhile to take whatever is there? The reason I ask is because I am playing a game as the Syrians and I have the chance to grab some rockets (whatever they are called) and was wondering if they are sometimes pointless to grab since I might not have a gun to shoot them. The scenario I am playing with someone has a bunch of rockets in the vehicles but I do not see any weapons on my guys except rifles and pistols. If I grab a rocket, does that mean a rocket gun comes with it? Or am I wasting my time grabbing them? Thx jonpfl
  5. Dima, I sent my saved game files last night. Thx jonpfl
  6. All, Has anyone else seen this? I noticed this in a PBEM game I am playing. I never told my guys to move but all 4 of them fell off the porch and got promptly killed. I have saved game files I am hoping I can send to BF. Does anyone know if they accept files to fix problems? Thx jonpfl
  7. All, How do we know what cover our men are in? I know in the original CM you could tell what type of terrain you were in (at least I think you could, but I haven't played it in ages). Thx jonpfl
  8. I want to be able to play on a huge map and have the capiblitiy to only have a handful of troops. As it stands now, if I select a huge map, I get a ton of units. Thx jonpfl
  9. All, I am hoping one of the developers can read this and give me an answer. I am not a hard core gamer and the original CM fit me and my friends perfectly. We could generate a large map and put 1000 pts worth of units on and have a great time. None of us want to manage a ton of units but do enjoy big/huge maps to move around on. Is there any chance BF is ever going to include the capibility to allow us to pick the force sizes for quick battles? I have to say I am very disappointed this feature is gone. Thx jonpfl
  10. All, Is there any way to set a number of points for a quick battle map (like in CMx1)? I like to play on bigger maps but do not want to have a ton of units to micromanange Thx jonpfl
  11. All, Is there a reason for me not to acquire everything that my vehicle is transporting? Does weight play an issue? If not, I cannot see a reason why I would not take everything. Thoughts Thx jonpfl
  12. All, Where is a good place where I can find scenarios specifically for PBEM? I know about www.cmmods.com but I do not see how I can search for just scenarios suited for PBEM. Thx jonpfl
  13. How do you search for 2 player games? I do not see a spot where you can search for "2P" Thx jonpfl
  14. One down from the hardest (don't remember the name they use, maybe Veteran)
  15. This happens when I select a friendly unit and an enemy tank icon is blinking red and yellow. I have not selected the enemy unit (or am I having a brain cramp and not releasing I selected the enemy unit)? Thx jonpfl
  16. All, What does it mean when the enemies tank icon is blinking red and yellow? Thx jonpfl
  17. All, Does this happen to anyone else? I was in the middle of a battle with 1.06 and halfway through the game, neither me or my opponent could load a file as it would CTD halfway through loading. Frustrated, I gave up until I found out there was a new patch. I have since started a new quick battle and the same thing happens. I updated my drivers to the latest on Nvidia (169 something). If I knew how to attach a file, I would attach the save game file. Any ideas? Thx jonpfl
  18. What does it mean when the target line is yellow. I looked it up in the book and there is nothing about it. Thx jonpfl
  19. How come my forward observer cannot talk to his superiors via a radio? I thought all US troops had radios? Is it because I took casulties in that squad and the guy who survived did not have the radio? I would assume he would have contact with the tank right in front of him regardless if he is moving or not. If my CO is in a tank and I am walking/running near it, I should still be in visual contact, right? Thx jonpfl
  20. I got this scenario from cmmods.com It is called "Encounter at something beginning with an A" Oh, so if he is moving, he cannot maintain contact with his superiors? Also, is that list in any order (like is the topmost thing the most important unit)? Thx jonpfl
  21. How come my spotter (in first picture) is not in command of anything? He is right next to the tanks. To the left, it has "A Troop" listed which leads me to believe his commanding officer is the tank. Also, is that list of names in any sort of order? Thx jonpfl
  22. All, I read the manual and I still do not fully understand command and control between units. Can someone point me to a link/message where they go through and explain everything. Mind you, I do not have prior knowledge of squads/platoons/etc. Enclosed are three screenshots that I would like to ask a few questions : 1) I have a unit in my first pic and it says he is not in contact (by the red dot, right?) with anyone. Why is that? From the pics, it looks like he should be in contact with the tanks right next to him 2) With the bottom two pics, what is this telling me? Is one of the tanks in control of the other? I do not undertand what the four lines mean in the lower left. I realize it means something about being in command, but exactly what does that mean? 3) What is the HQ button for on the sillouete? Does that mean that I have a HQ unit driving the tank? 4) What is the hiearchy of control : squad, platoon, etc, etc? Thx for helping jonpfl
  23. i think you are looking backwards </font>
  24. If you look at my pics, you will see the forward observer has yellow dots while the team that is denied to use my mortars has red x's
