  1. I can't believe this, I'm still in shock, but while playing an operation, I confronted my first King Tiger! And even though I had Jumbo 76mm on my side, and a 76mm W+ Sherman already shooting at it a no avial, what kills it? My M8 HMC!!!! It truly is Thanksgiving!!! Just had to tell someone who would appreciate the feat. You may continue with your regular gaming.

  2. I had my wn amazing story of a superhuman squad. I had a SS squad of 11 men in a house on the far right flank of my village. It turned out to be the main thrust point of the American attack. Though they were supported be 2 half tracks, they alone managed 47 (yes 47) infantry casualties at a loss of 9 of their own. They even charged an immobilized Sheman that was in the middle of map. They didn't knock it out, but it distracted the Sherman long enough for another sqaud charging from the left to get close enough and knock it out. They should be awarded the Iron Cross.

  3. Well, if you think about it, "full" would seem the most realistic. If you were in combat, you wouldn't know where the enemy would be or at what strength. You'd be clueless until you see them. If you could see where they were and how much firepower they had, there would be no reason to have patrols to scout ahead, or to move ahead with caution.

  4. Well, I've played the demo and I've had the game for 3 days, so I just went a bought another one for my brother. Haven't even told him about it, and even though he's not a wargamer of any sort, I know he's going to love it. Plus it will give me some one to massacre...I mean play against. Thanks BTS!!!

  5. I'm sorry, but how old are you again? I think you have other issues to resolve. My God, will you die if you had to wait another week? Enjoy your vacation (if you can relax) and know that once you get home you'll have the game sitting at home. Would you really be able to enjoy your vacation if you got the game now? I'd rather get it afterwards.

  6. As I understood it, a german flight got screwed up in it's navigation during a night raid and dropped it's bombs on the first sign of lights that they saw. That happened to be London. That incident prompted the raid on Berlin, that led to Hitler's obsession with leveling London.

  7. Great responses from everyone! There are so many movies that I haven't seen in a long time. Seeing the diversity in the types of war movies everyone enjoys is interesting. I a bit surprised no one threw M.A.S.H. in there. A good was movie in its own rights. I must say I've personallly seen about 85% of the movies mentioned and I agree with mostly everyone, (except the guy who liked The Thin Red Line. It was ok at best. Watch the original.) The one I feel I must see now is Iron Cross. When did it come out and who stars in it?

  8. I agree with most of the replies here. I admit to being a CM convert. I bought CC 1 and 2 as soon as they came out. Still love CC2. I was always facinated with Operation Market Garden. (Which must be obvoius to those who saw my movie thread.) Skipped CC3 and bought CC4. Still love the game for its innovation at the time and will still play it now and again, but from the moment I played the Gold Demo, every thing I always wanted CC to be was realized. For those who still hold fast to loving CC, great for them, but CM is definitely the future, hands down. I'm not buying CC5 but you can believe I'll be buying CM2-CMx. Thanks BTS for making a beautiful game.

  9. Ok, after seeing all the posts about how boring the forum is getting, I figured I'd add in my own topic.

For me Saving Private Ryan ranks up there among my favorite war movies, but more for the camera angles and the "feel" of being in combat.

Personally, my utmost favorite is probably A Bridge Too Far. I like movies that are based on actual battles and are more historically accurate. (Midway, Battle of the Bulge, Battleground)

    Your thoughts......
