  1. We had 5 major iterations of patch v1.01 so far. It's currently in RC2 status, but that, unfortunately, means nothing, as RC status can go up to double digits in # sequence.

Um, this makes it sound like we should shelve the game for a few months. I have scenario designs I'm sitting on. Bummer.

  2. can anyone remember the name of the CMBO scenario where German and American recon units bump into each other in thick fog near a church? ,that one was alot of fun ,especially because you had no idea what was out there in the fog!

It was called "Fear in the Fog", I think. Fog is an enormous factor in the Mortain Offensive, which, of course, took place August 6-10, in Normandy. So it's in the games purview.

  3. If you haven't discovered this, too bad. Gentlemen, the biggest topographic map score ever...showing satellite pictures and topographic maps together, in as low as 1/12,500 scale, for ALL OF FRANCE, for your IPad, for only six bucks. Check it out and post all your adulation here.

It's called "Iphigenie", and you can find it at your App store. You're welcome.

  4. Given their resources as an indie developer, I think their priorities are evident...programming stability, historical fidelity, solid game play, attention to detail. The interface seems to have taken back seat but usually gets brought up to speed after a while. I like their priorities since the commercial (mainstream) game developers cannot be counted to support games the way this team does.

    perfectly put.

  5. I appreciate it. While waiting for this reply, I tried doing a download and install. The installation is all set to go...just waiting on being allowed to activate. Bear in mind I have TWO orders. PC is fine, but not MAC. Thanks for the prompt reply. Believe me, I'm not ruling out stupidity on my end.

    Franko,

    Sorry you're running into problems.

The hotfix was only for the early downloaded version. It won't do anything for you now because the fix is already incorporated in what is on the disk. Downloading won't do anything either since that's the same version you already have.

What exactly went wrong when you tried to run it? I'm trying to picture how you burned through 4 activations since the only problem I know of that would use up an activation does so only one extra time.

I'll bump this to Moon, but he's going to be out most of the weekend (Holiday and what not) so I don't know when he'll get back to you. He is the one that can reset your Activations.

  6. I'm frustrated.

I got the MAC version and the PC version. I've loaded the PC version fine, but MAC is driving me nuts. The hotfix doesn't work. I got the disk and installed it, and while struggling with the hot fix, I ran out of activations. Can I have my activations back? Also, should I ignore the disk and download the game from the Internet, now that the fix is not required? Help!

  7. I spent a great deal of time designing and publicly distributing scenarios both independently and through Boots and Tracks. Many of them were well-received. I've been studying the AI capabilities over the last few days and have actually read the manual. It looks as though there is tremendous potential here, even for designing scenarios where the AI may actually WIN. I have a sense that there will be no bad scenarios going forward: only bad designers. Question: is there some sort of AI guide out there, other than the manual, that can give us more insight? Or, is it fair to say that the manual is complete onto itself, and there is nothing further to add? Battlefront, what say you?

Also, I'd like to point out that this "game" (I'd prefer to call it a hobby) is truly a magnum opus, and the folks at Battlefront should be lauded. It is truly an astonishing achievement. Well done, gents. I hope you're making enough on this to buy a few toys and to take care of those you value. Great product.
