  1. Crockett (and everyone else too), go grab my Database from Boots & Tracks. It has all of the scenarios on the net included, and you can find the ones you are looking for quite easily.

There are two versions...a group of CSV files which you can open with any spreadsheet or database, and an Excel 97/2000 Workbook with full search & filter capabilites and active hyperlinks.

Go here to find it: http://wbr.thegamers.net/boots_tracks/index.asp

    Happy Holidays,

    Harv

ps. Version 1.01 should be up next week with even more (15 or so) scenarios and other goodies.

  2. If you can wait a just a few more days, my database will be up with a listing of ALL (I think) of the scenarios out there. If you have Excel 97/2000 there are working links for the web pages that host them.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure there are four scenarios with beach landings in them.

  3. Kinda OT here, but watch out for those Canadian Badgers. I actually had 3 rounds from my AR-15 ricochet off the head of a real-life Badger once. That whole armor slope/thickness thing really worked for him, cause all I did was p*ss him off (and give him a haircut & headache).

Too bad the ones in the game don't have that kind of protection.

  4. Clubfoot,

I have created what I think is a very comprehensive database. I have just put the finishing touches on it, and it is going to be available VERY soon on [censored] website.

It includes 497 scenarios and 47 operations so far (up to December 5), and is in an Excel 2000 worksheet with all sorts of information. Stay tuned for further details.

I'll group your scenarios together for the 1.01 update that will be out in another couple of weeks or so, along with whatever new ones I find and add.

  5. These are the sites that I'm currently checking weekly to keep my database updated. If there are any others you know of, please post them here.

  6. This is for everyone who e-mailed me after I sent the database. I sat down this morning to reply to all who dropped me a note with suggestions or thanks, but I seem to have deleted the folder I was storing the messages in. frown.gif

Again, I am sorry. Please consider this to be your Thank You for your input and support.

Now if you are actually kicking AndreASS and are about to decribe it graphically you might give it another try.

Au contraire, the fact that you were foolish (read "smart like an oven mitt") enough to reply would mean that it was the right tack. Are you always so easily tricked, or was this just a bad day. confused.gif

As for Germanboy, he has been cowering in his foxhole for five turns now, presumably waiting for me to just walk up and bayonet him. Details to follow...

  8. Update...

Version 2.4 of the database should now be in the hands of everyone who requested it. If you're on the list but haven't received it yet, drop me a line.

I figure I've put well over 200 hours into the database so far, so I think I'm going to take a little break until at least next weekend before I do much more with it.

I have been informed that it will be hosted on *a soon to be named website* in early-mid December, so there will probably only be one more direct update from me, and then all future updates will be available from there only. If you would like to have it now, reply here or e-mail me, and I'll get it out to you ASAP.

Again, please tell me if I need to add or change anything, as I'm sure that tunnel vision is setting in, and a fresh perspective always helps.

    Thank you,

    Craig Harvey

  9. There is good news for anyone using (or thinking of using) StarOffice. I've received reports that the database works equally well with it, and I'm also told it is free.

Hopefully this is true with Jason McGrody's excellent Unit Database as well, as then people will be able to access everything with little cost involved.

Please jump in here with more info if you are using StarOffice, or even the Excel reader.

    Craig

  10. I almost forgot, anyone who asked to be on my mailing list should have received it by now. If you haven't, please contact me and I'll get it out ASAP.

You will want this database, as there are now 45 Ops and 405 scenarios listed. It is becoming fairly comprehensive now, with website names, urls, and author's name & e-mail address. The author's play recommendations will be added soon, followed by terrain screenshots if I can make it work.

  11. Hmmmm, is this perhaps the same Carentan that slithered away from a crushing defeat in the good ol' days of the Gold Demo? I think it is, and I also think the time has come to finally finish you off. tongue.gif

Send me a setup, any small or tiny scenario, either side. There will be no excuses about playing the release version this time. wink.gif

    Craig

ps. did you ever finish "Closing with the Enemy"? I hope so, cause you're gonna need the help. tongue.gif

  12. Well, seeing as we Canadians had our Thanksgiving a month ago and I know what you will be going through, I thought all you Americans will need something to read while you're laying bloated on the couch from too much turkey.

Bloated, hmmm, that's what my little database is becoming, and its only going to get worse as I keep adding stuff I'm afraid. I'm not sure if its even printable now, but if you want it, I've got it.

Drop me a line, reply here, or send a pigeon.

    Craig

ps. You will now need Excel 97+ or the viewer available at http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/2000/downloadDetails/xlviewer.htm to access it now.

pps. I promise, it will be on a website soon, I just don't know when. Maybe they're waiting for me to quit screwing with it...?

  13. hmmmm, I bet I'm at the bottom of more posts than you Doug. I always hoped it was my incredible wit that others couldn't quite follow, but I'm sure it's actually more along the lines of my rambling on enough that they finally got tired of reading what I was typing and then they started sending e-mails to Steve telling them to ban me because I was using so much bandwith that they couldn't connect any more down and if they were afraid to respond because it was possible that I would reply and think of something even more worthless to say and then just keep droning on and on and on and on.....
