  1. I thought of anoder possible Map additions for all Map editors involved into Biltong's Campaign Rules. In many case, often after a strongly effective result from either side - one can deal with an immediate attack or counter attack. Forgive me if I missed something on the map additions. For immediate counter attack I understand one might use the same map understanding that as dealing with an assault on just conquered positions. I miss though how to realistically (visually) deal with the immediate attack: I'd like to see it as for operations. Part of the just fought battle being the lower side of the new map for the immediate attack: it would be like: Give the enemy no breathing time. Immediate pursuit. Is this last side of the map addition covered already in any way?
  2. Now, after the previous note on the added realism touch: I am at battle #5 on July 1st. Is this average speed? Well, it happened I had all previous 4 battles as Total victory so I fough 2 battles a day (used favor to advance the second time as the crazy man in Berlin wanted me to fight the 5th battle on the 24th of JUNE!!! (two the 22, two the 24, the 5th at night) GIVE ME A BREAK ADOLF!!!!
  3. Just done through the whole process. Works perfectly! I can even import the maps from the map pack: set-up zones and flags are the same. I may buy my Battle group and attached units, set the exact experience (I can even modify the amount of ammunition with respect to Full), save it. Then generate the QB, use the generated file as one would use e regular map from the Map additions, reply "YES" to "Import Units as Well?" question, buy the support. Essentially turns the Map additions into ones pre-loaded with exactly your Battle Group. You only have to add the Support units. That's great: now experience level is tracked down to the single squad/team as per results from the ongoing campaign previous battles. Cool! PS It may looks like micro-management but it is not different from buying your Battle Group into the Quick Battle, only you may edit on a unit base now.
  4. Oh I was doing the reverse. First create the full QB battle then try to load into Editor: it refuses to do it. What puzzles me is that it seems to be working with scenarios coming with the game. Anyway, that is a nice realism touch being able to track down exactly units experience rather then averaging out. Peterk: looking at the default view of the map is not big deal. One would just just cheat oneself and would amount to lie when reporting the AAR
  5. Question: if one of my squads gets to veteran exp level, I could I have one squad as such amid all Reg when buying my Battle Group? same if one lowers to green, how to demote for next battle?
  6. Another SWITCHER!!!! Arf Arf: I think I'll need it: the Mad Bastard in Berlin will surely not miss the opportunity to push me forward the same night after my second Total Victory (last minutes to go but enemy is totally routed) on Barbarossa Day.
  7. I hear you. That sad story makes me even more willing to protect my CO: he is doing a hell of a good job!
  8. Oh, thanks. I downloaded it, but... how do you launch a Java applet on a Mac? Is it possible to launch it under OS 9? I rebooted in X, found an app "Aplet Launcher" but none of the files found in a folder did anything. </font>
  9. Heya edgars. Your multifaceted question has one answer: YES. From Biltong site you may have Excell spreadsheet, auto-gen parameter facility (again excell if I am not wrong) and the Java tool Biltaid. I am using this last and am delighted (or is that due to the fact that I am on a Mac? )
  10. Unless of course you have Word installed (.doc file is a native Word format) or any converter available
  11. hehe, yes they DO! But I can tell the difference, only it could be better highlighted SOOO, you mean after I crush the Commies on the second battle (Dawn) in the same day THAT maniac will ask me to fight at night as well?!?!? JEEEZSSZS
  12. Peter, on the attack immediately (gosh: I am still on the Barbarossa day: 22nd June for my second battle) the HQ from Berlin asks me if I want to use favor points to change various parameters. From what I see the panel shows the selected option and additional ones plus the favor points to spend to change default. So far so good. Only problem it is difficult to see which is the default: almost not visible which is which. Cheers. PS This is like getting into a Role-Game
  13. Peterk, the patch seems to work: just finished first battle (Axis Assault), Total Victoty (93% - 7%). After inputing the AAR, Biltaid comes with: "Herr General. We must take advantage of your success in the field and attack once more immediately. The enemy cannot be give time to regroup. I will take the liberty of reorganizing your men for you for the upcoming attack. A few more solid pushes and we will push the Russians out of the area. Good Luck!" Good luck my sh!t!!! PS I still have to push "OK" on the pop-up window: can't wait to see what that will give me!
  14. Oh My Biltong!!! That is a HELL OF A GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!! You are the best thing coming to CMBB after CMBB itself. I'd happily have it integrated into a paid CM3 option should Steve & Co. think about integrating it (with Biltaid of course )
  15. I did not realize what I missed!!! You got me! I am sending all previous battles to /dev/null Don't worry mate. Whenever it comes I have a great Glenmorangie 1975 to celebrate with
  16. Are the followup and counterattack which are now present modify the battle setup and/or force composition for the allied? I kept all the AAR for my first three battles: maybe I might simply re-enter the values for the battles I fought and the release 1.0 will then compute more realistic improvements to my units allowing me to fight the 4th battle directly? Or I misunderstood? From the Biltaid shell output it looks like those are a post-battle adjustments, from my log: checkIfAlliedCounterattack() random number = 8 roll adjustment -1 random number adjusted for date= 7 random number adjusted for battle result= 7 allied counterattack = None calculateLossLevel() battle group casualties = 11 battle group total men = 144 lossLevelPercent = 7.638888888888889 Loss level = Light Random Number = 5 checkIfAxisImmediateAttack() randomNumber = 5 roll adjustment 1 randomNumber adjusted for date = 6 randomNumber adjusted for battle result = 6 roll adjustment 1 randomNumber adjusted for loss level = 7 roll adjustment -2 randomNumber adjusted for dusk = 5 axisImmediateAttack = None Random Number = 2 getAttachedUnits randomNumber = 2 randomNumber adjusted for battle results= 2 randomNumber adjusted for Axis immediate attack= 2 randomNumber adjusted for time of day= 2 roll adjustment -1 randomNumber adjusted for temperature= 1 randomNumber adjusted for weather= 1 attached units = 0
  17. Great Peter: My finger is already tired from hitting the "Get Mail" icon some 40 times per minute
  18. Fine, not a problem. ARRGH: you mean I am not going to be invited to Berlin anymore? OK, I will follow your suggestion and start allover but today's is Saturday: shall I wait till TOMORROW for the release!!!!!?????
  19. COOL, you mailed me I will be able to Load prevoius battles so to have a smooth continuation. BTW, I updated my OS X Java to 1.4.1 so don't be afraid to put in whatever Java stuff you like
  20. Just a brief AAR: I starte dmy campaign. Am at battle4. The first three went extremely well. Rules are sound and make for an excitement to go through the next battle knowing these ARE my men!!!! BTW, I started using Peter Biltaid Java tool. Wow guys, that is SO nice. Peter asked me not to advertise it since it is in beta but it made the entire process such a fun thing that I finally couldn't resist. All my men are now regular, have some 14 experience units and the rest all at 13. My favor grows staedily and I have heard rumors from Berlin: the Fuhrer himself wants to know this new CO who just went through Ruskis as hot knife on a butter bar.
  21. Heya Peter Not that I am an average Joe (being playing CM from CMBO demo on) but Biltaid is as a blast as the Biltong Rules. And the set of maps available with Biltong is amazing. No comparison with playing the QB generated map. Using the Biltong is better than playing an Operation scenario which last the whole bloody war!!! Biltaid allows me to be amazingly fast in going through the rules results, automatically compute the results, get my setup for the next battle, inject AAR to get an update on my Battle group and support/attached units, start the next battle. Time to do that? maybe 30 seconds at most. Moreover, if you are as lucky as I am to have BOTH a TiBook and a desktop you will have the Biltaid running on the OS X machine and CMBB QB parameters on the G3: I do not even need to print the Biltaid results to input CMBB next battle. Finally: PETER!!!!!!!! Give me an update!!!!
