I have 1022 MB RAM. My ATI driver is the 6.14.

Read all the previous posts, but can't find an answer. Setting all graphic options as low as I can. EAX sound setting off. All currently running programs, (antivirus, firewall, etc) turned off. Now getting about 1 frame/5 sec at best! Even a 5 sec delay just hitting the pause button. Current system: HP Pavillion laptop. AMD 64 3500 2.2GHz ATI Radeon Xpress 200 I know this isn't a hot rod, but I haven't had trouble like this before. I have to assume this is a code problem. Is that, in fact, how it's being looked at now?

For a such a short scenario I'm sure having a hard time with this one. I've tried advancing the infantry through the buildings on each side of the road, with the light tanks coming a bit behind. On one try I was able to luckily take out the gun to my right with my mortar, but by the time the rest of the infantry got to the buildings lining the plaza they were attritted so badly they were unable to take out the last gun and just got slowly picked off. I never was able to put my tanks to very good use. They couldn't even take out the infantry straight down the road behind the wall. Anyone know better tactics in this type of scenario? I have to second The Forgotten Soldier by Sajer. Very brutal and haunting. Also agree with Seven Roads to Hell by Burkett. One of the best first person accounts I've read. A Blood Dimmed Tide by Astor is a great account of the bulge. Filled with multiple first person stories. I just bought Astors newest The Bloody Forest which covers Huertgen. Haven't had a chance to read it yet.

I experienced a lot of crashes initially with CM that I tried fixing by different drivers, etc. I finally got "EndItAll" and used it to stop ALL but the most necessary background programs. I still have crashes now and then with even one or two background programs running. I wonder if my memory settings could be optimized. I have 128 M of memory. I installed FreeMem to moniter my memory usage and see my memory go from 64 down to 10 for inexplicable reasons. I heard someone mention "memory leaking" before. What is that? What (if any) are the optimal designated memory settings for this game?

I have a similar set-up and had the same problem. I had to exit out of ALL background programs including my virus protection. If you have Microsoft Office there is a program I think called faststart that also hogs memory. I think this is all a memory problem. It also locked up with the new video drivers I got for my geforce board. I went back to the old drivers and new everything seems to work ok.

Sorry....forgot to mention, I'm using the Prophet3d card.

I downloaded the new nVidea driver and my game locks up every time I play. I thought lock-ups were settled with the release of the gold version. Anyone else have this problem?

I've got an old voodoo2 card in my computer and wanted to upgrade to a newer 3d card to get rid of that blocky smoke. I've seen arguements between voodoo 3, tnt2, and the more expensive ge-force. I haven't seen the Viper 2 with the s3 savage 2000 controller mentioned. Any bugs, or would this one work ok. I did buy one, but haven't unwrapped it yet.
