Congratulations guys!
I played the Allied CO for the first half of the battle, but had to retire to the real world duties. If you want to check out the Allied briefing, go here:

I own a Hercules GF2 card and use the 5.32 drivers. All other drivers sets I have tried above this one gives me unreadable text with FSAA enabled.
But what is a man to do?? CM is THE MOST important game for me, so I really dont give a damn.

Hi all
As a former tanker on a Leopard 1 tank I am very interested in the different tank crew training programmes for the Germans and the Russians during WW2? What kind of changes where made to the training programmes over the years? How often where larger training manouvers held to improve the experience with larger mechanized formations? Have there been any books written on the subject?
We have all heard about the excellent German tank crew training and the follwing quality of the German crews. It seems as though they realised early that tank crews needed extensive training. Heinz Guderian worked hard for this during the mid-war years. "Achtung Panzer" is a good book talking about German tank development during the mid-war years.
But what about the Ruskies? Did they also realise the need for well trained crews, or did they just put people inside the tanks and hoped for the best? Did they get to drive their tanks in peacetime, or didnt they get the fuel for that?
Writer and author John Erickson spoke of this in an interview on the Discovery Channel. He said that the Russians didnt have proper tank crew training before -43. He also said that they had very few training excersises, because of fuel and money shortages, etc.
It would be interesting to know much more about this subject. It can tell us alot about the experience levels on tank crews during the eastern front campaign, and how it changed over the years. This will of course be appliable to CM2.

Norgoth:
Delete the file called "Combat Mission Bynd Ovr Prefs" and start up the game again. It will then switch to the resolution you use on your desktop.

I prefer the grass made by "The Desert Fox". It looks damn good and you can see the elevation good as well.
I tried to enter his webpage, but its not available any more.
"The Desert Fox", where are you?

Hi there
Ok, here is the problem:
I want to play the game in 1600x1200 instead of the regular 1280x1024 that I normally use. I delete the prefs file and fire up CM. It asks me to accept the new resolution(1600x1200) and I do. The game look sweet and everything is cool.
The problem is that I do not want to use 1600x1200 as my default windows resolution. My monitor doesnt perform very well at this high resolution. In the game this is not an issue, but in 2D it is. So I switch back to 1280x1024 in Windows. Thats no problem I think, cause CM has saved my previous resolution settings(1600x1200).
So I fire up CM with my default Windows resoltion of 1280x1024. Guess what happens? It asks me to accept 1280x1024 as the CM resolution. Argh, why didnt it remember that I selected 1600x1200 as my CM resolution?
If change my Windows resolution back to 1600x1200 and fire up CM, it doesnt ask me to accept any new settings. I have to delete the prefs file to apply the higher resolution.
Is there some way to "save" the 1600x1200 resolution inside CM, and still use 1280x1024 as my default Windows resolution?
Thanks

Did you just get this problem with the new 12.41 drivers?

I wonder what those CMBB trenches will look like. Will it be possible to link trenches together, so that a unit can move from one place to another without beeing seen? Since the CMBB code is nearly complete (95%), it should be possible for BTS to answer this. And a screenshot wouldnt be bad either!
