  1. Coverdisk demos are usually crap & if anything convince me NOT to buy a game. Yeah I know the CM demo is different - but many people I think won't even bother to install a coverdisk demo unless they see a rave review first. Rave reviews are what it is all about. Has CM been sent off to any mags for reviews yet ??????????????????
  2. Prordered. Won't copy. Will use my CD burner to store loads of scanarios that I make/download.

  4. sorry posted twice my mistake [This message has been edited by Keg (edited 03-26-2000).]
  5. PG/V4V or CC2 ? Well, CC2 generated more excitment for me but PG has always been on my HD & has been played to death (even though it is gamey). The V4V series was prob. a little too compicated fro me as I was just geeting into wargaming at the time I did enjoy G/J/S though. Allied General & Pacific general didnt have the same kind of appeal. Talonsoft's EF & WF have some mileage & Steel Panthers, now there's a good game. To date though, nothing has captured my imagination as much as CM. Extrapolating this format 5 years down the road will, I think, result in an engine that is truly awesome. Maybe photorealistic images of troops and landscape ? If so, it would be like directing a movie. The potential CM4 generation games is almost unimaginable. [This message has been edited by Keg (edited 03-26-2000).]
  6. I think I've seen something on factory type buildings when doing a search on Stalingrad. Not sure about guard towers or gov. bldgs - maybe considered unnecessary as they don't have specific functions within the game. Guard towers would be cool though. Good for spotters !!
  7. Thx all (esp BTS) for the replies. I suppose I WILL be too busy getting thrashed by the new AI to have time to pick up a battle manual !
  8. Can you suffer from shellshock if you play too much CM ?
  9. Got mine from ftp.avault.com (seemed english)
  10. The download took 5 hours, the install 3 minutes and the uninstall 3 minutes. Is this the mainstream future of wargaming ?
  11. Ummmm... I suppose it might make it easier to illegally copy though. Anyone ? ........(silence) I guess no ring-bound manual then. [This message has been edited by Keg (edited 03-19-2000).]
  12. Perhaps not at first for CM1 - though I'd be happy to pay for this. Also, I suppose those buying later CM's but not having CM1 could buy a ring-bound manual at an extra cost (or more more sensibly just buy CM1 - you know it makes sense !!!!).
  13. This is my first post so be gentle with me. A quick Q about the manual that I haven't been able to answer from a search of the 35,000+ (!) posts to this forum. I have seen requests for it to be ring-bound. Will this be the case ?? Apart from allowing us to print out extra info from CD/online it would also cut costs for future CM's as extra chapters could just be inserted/or old info removed. Any thoughts ? PS : Thanks BTS for providing the Holy Grail.
