  1. krauts, where I must eat krauts
  2. God damn you Matt I'll die without an update!
  3. I was just wondering if your men can stop off and get a brew on (cup of tea), it would make a brilliant add on. Beware the twelve flying monkeys of Bavaria are somewhere out there!
  4. Supertanker are you sure that you weren't playing Cance Encouter, which isn't the gold. I haven't actually seen the gold yet so I might just be talking out of my arse.
  5. The only American I have ever thought was decent that has appeared on UK TV, are the Budweiser adds with the frogs(I assume it also appear in the US). The best add that I have ever seen was the Tango advert (my fellow Brits should remember this), where a marketing man from tango challenged the world to a scrap, it was about a minute long; by the end it had harrier jump jets etc.. of the White Cliffs of Dover; f**king funny if ask me.
  6. I was just wondering wether or not weapons/units can be selected in an e-mail game in a fashion similiar to the close combat 2 and 3 model. This way you could create a battle field and select a point limit, with out finding out what your opponent has. It probably is in the game I just want to check; thanks.
  7. Well done BTS, JOB'S A GOODUN!
  8. I haven't checked if this has already been asked but I was wondering whether or not there is an exact date to the release of the game? I know that late May was said earlier, but is there anything more precise? Oh yeah how long will it take to ship to England? One final note, I am extremely pissed off because the only computer on the internet that I have access to at the moment isn't powerful enough to run the Gold Demo. Although I do have my home computer with me there is no way of linking it up to the net and I will have to wait a couple of weeks before I can go back home and download the demo. So hopefully you can see my position.
  9. I was looking at the latest beta AAR and saw that the corn fields were completely flat , i.e. no corn. Although they were a yellow corn colour; I was just wondering if in the final version of the game there will be corn?
  10. I like Fionn am considering an upgrade of my computer. It's currently a PII350 with a banshee and voodoo 2( I know it's weird, but it came with two cards. Firstly could someone tell me if it's worth upgrading. Secondly if so, how easy is it to upgrade from a pII to a pIII? Also which are the best graphics cards out on the market, taking money into account I don't want to be spending ludicrous amounts of money. (although I am willing to spend a bit).
  11. It has been raised quite few times now that on the whole people on this site are of an older age. Not old old but in thirties/ late twenties. I am myself a mere youngun at 18 (only just by a few weeks).
  12. Bteve why not pick out one paricualr battle, or perhaps two for CM2 eg KURSK and cover it in great detail. This would also allow you to make more games
  13. That explains why he was rambling on about a poster. I got e-mails from a couple of people who had heard about the game. One had tried the demo and was very impressed. I, although an avide follower of Close Combat; (although I didn't buy that last one, I tried a friends and didn't think much improvement had been made , in fact I thought it took a step back in not allowing you to select individual units in the scenario editor). Have never played a turn based war game apart from the almighty Risk (don't think that counts) on either a board or PC. Although I hate to say this I don't think that I would have been particulariy interested in CM unless it had been 3D. Perhaps it is a visual thing as with other modellers, who I know are sticklers for visual detail. Maybe the time has come to get modellers interested in CM and other such games in the future. Doesn't it sound so easy. P.S. Steve I just took a look at the Panther, it looks wicked. He's done a good job. [This message has been edited by Owen (edited 04-02-2000).]
  14. Unfortuately missing links took my submission off the axis, allied etc forums it is now only on the general AFV discussion forum. However I checked my e-mails this morning and I had recieved quite a few pleasing comments on the subject, including Ian who runs missing links and military modelling mag (don't know it is worth trying to get him to publish something on the game,- over to you at BTS.) although now its been taken off four or so forums I don't know if I'll get as many reading my submission now, oh well. Oh and someone said they saw Seve/Chris at an AMPS show taking photographs. He wants you to give him a free game Steve and everyone else else whos models you took pictures of. Cheeky little bugger wasn't he, much like me.
  15. It is not the SAS's job to shot unarmed Catholics dead. I know your Irish, I presume Catholic from your comment and will feel strongly over the subject but hey try not to bring politics into the statement. Quite simplely troops hav eto be sent out there to try and control the situation. On occassions yes unarmed groups whether Catholic or Protestant have been shot. Yes there are times when it could have been avoided (eg Bloody Sunday, although that is debatable, no-one knows what actually happened). However you try telling families who have lost relatives to bombs/shootings by terrorist groups in Northern Ireland, that it wasn't/isn't worth having armed patrols. Somethings have to be done people may not always like soldiers walking around the streets of Belfast, and hopefully they wont have to for much longer but it is there. Quite simplely quick judgements have to made where it looks like someone is armed, when in fact unarmed, as a result unfortunate deaths will occur, with the situation in Ulster it's going to happen. Personnally I don't think soldiers who have mistakenly shot unarmed civilians enjoy doing it, would you? I guess that your answer is no. However the SAS are still almost universally held in military forces as the best regiment in the world. Did you see how they dealt with the taking over of the Iranian embassy. If you haven't I suggest you look into it.
  16. hello [This message has been edited by Owen (edited 04-02-2000).]
  17. MantaRay the SAS are the best fighting force in the world this isn't blind patriotism, it is reality. Ask anyone who knows his stuff, and I know a lot of people who know their stuff about modern day fighting forces. Major Tom dealt with the rest of your bulls**t quite well I thought. 18. MantaRay what about that small little battle called El Alamain
  19. Steve hopefully this will improve my credentials in your eyes. I have just posted a fairly lengthy submission to three forums giving them the basics on CM and providing links to battlefront, TGN CMHQ and this here forum on the missing links website- www.missing-lynx.com Missing lynx is a relatively large military modelling web site, hopefully I can get a few people interested in CM over there and perhaps a few in ML here. (direct link to one of the forum pages- http://network54.com/Hide/Forum/47207) The web site it self is a very good one, I recommend you lot take a look at their AFV photograph submissions, particularly the diorama ones (they are very good and can be appreciated even if your not interested in modelling). Any way I will continue to barrage missing lynx and other military modelling sites with CM propaganda (although propaganda isn't needed the game sells itself), if anyone wants to help me out feel free to do so. P.S. I'm known as oz d on missing lynx, there is already an Owen registered on the site, which is a bit of a rare thing. [This message has been edited by Owen (edited 04-01-2000).]
  20. I agree with mch and daryl as do the flying monkeys of Bavaria. Both good points boys!
  21. At least I made my anme known on this site
  22. I believe flying monkeys won the war. New evidence proves that these leathal weapons backfired badly on Jerry, destroying the arms factories that they were produced in. Thus crippling the German War machine. The Germans should have evacuated there homelands, whilst they still had a chance and moved to Slovenia where they could live happily ever after drinking tea and eating cruppets.
