  1. Wish list... Recon teams with extra camoflage 'points' 'Kill' symbols on the side of tanks. Recurring soldiers in squads for campaigns. If there's music then definately an option to turn it off (might already be in) Flares with lighting effects(not the trouser variety). Medals and promotions. Paras (OK in WWII they'd probably be dropped in a distant country).
  2. Is there a 'dig-in' option then? What happens in buildings? The screenshots suggest the defenders are in full-view. I still like to see a 2-4 man recon team that are camo'd to the hilt and able to radio back positions.
  3. Hi Steve, What's stopping Martin from blowing the bridge once (if) he has control of the town? I think it's been said that vehicles can't get across the frozen river and the tree-lines make a lovely kill-zone (admittedly on both sides) for the numerous infantry he's got. Even if there's a break-through there's the nice run-up to the Town over open ground. I've probably missed something, which is why I always get battered at chess. Cheers Tony
  4. I can'tr consider myself a serious war-gamer but I can't wait for CM. How much will I have to know about weapon types and how much will I be told in the manual?
  5. How will CM handle the limits of the battefield? Can we expect a 'dunk' sound when a unit hits the edge of the playmap? also, there is a 'stealth'....right? Are there silenced pistols? How far can a special forces team recce the area and avoid combat and, if they are discovered, how silently can they extract themselves? I'm already starting to consider tactics and get the impression intelligence is going to be pretty important. Cheers Tony
  6. A question prompted from pure anticipation of CM's release. Imagine I am attacking 2 houses close together. There are rows of trees to the left and right of the houses... T *I* / House \ T \ R / House \ R \ Tank E / \ E \ E / \ E \ S / \ S \ I move an infantry platoon down the left in stealth mode to observe the house. I then move a heavy armoured unit down the right making as much noise as possible. What can my observers expect to see? Enemy running from house to house? A chance that the enemy will 'retreat' into an ambush? How does CM let me know if my observers are spotted? I'll repeat that the question is prompted from pure excitement. I love top down war-games and have tried to imagine a 3D version but didn't think it would be possible for a few years yet. Cheers Tony
  7. The LOS tutorial is superb. However, I'm worried about the different sounds within CM. How much of an advantage will it be to know different vehicle and weapon noises?
