Hmm, sounds cool! Actually that would be a good name for a new scenario: 'Der Jagd nach der weinenden Statue' (The hunt for the crying Statue)

Or, do you turn off JavaScript in your browser? Both could be the answer to your problems. I know that if I turn of JS and/ or cookies I have to re-log in. HTH Kolonel FLW
 4. Hey Cromwell! Airborne? My favourites! Send me the scenario, I'll definitely try it! And give feedback too My email: fwerdmoelder@mus.ch Thanks! Freddy (aka Kolonel FLW)

I'll probably be doing an update tomorrow, so be sure to send it by then.

Thanks! ) Sent the pic over to 109 Gustav Freddy (aka Kolonel FLW) [ 09-05-2001: Message edited by: Kolonel FLW ]

Mace

LOL! Just plain ordinary cigarattes  I have this screenshot of a lonely bonehead in a boat, that won't go anywhere (from the Nijmegen scenario). It's rather funny, well, I think so ... Anyone want to host it?
 7. Gee, I want to give this guy a medal. Medal for being an utter bonehead... Still find this, uhm let's say Monty Pythonesque, or something Sigh, wanted to post a great pic, but I can't upload it :-(( Very sorry about that!! :-((( Anyone know how to do that, without having a URL? Or, if you like, I can send you the pic, and we can go from there... Thanks! Freddy [ 09-04-2001: Message edited by: Kolonel FLW ]
 8.
quote:
Originally posted by Panther G: Out of curiousity, who has the slowest mac that runs CM? How long does it take to compile a Company sized battle? I was wondering because sometimes it seems to take forever on my 500 mghtz G3, but then I think about the people with 90 mghtz PowerPC processors and wonder how bad it really is with a slow computer. Regards, Ryan

Hmm, I started out playing on a 7200/ 120 (48 MB RAM) with NO videocard, just 4 VRAM (internal) Did it work? Yeah, it did. But once in a while a Fog of War came out of my Mac Graphics were of course no where near to being as nice as you can see on many screenshots... But, it worked remarkably well Now, I have a 9600/350 with 448 MB RAM, and the original videocard in it (IXMicro or something), no 3D, I guess. Does *that* work? Yeah, it does. Quite well thank you Graphics are actually pretty good. Speed of processing is ok, usually. Of course if you try Nijmegen as a scenario (I wonder if that scenario is truly non-fictious, but that's for another thread), yeah, then it takes about 15 to 20 seconds before it is done calculating... What really helps, BTW, is upping the RAM for CM to say 100 MBs. That really, really helps. As mentoned many times beore all over the Forum. Worthwhile to repeat though, IMHO. Summarizing, yes you can play, but be patient , if you have an older Mac. FWIW Kolonel FLW
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by TIM's DA MAN: Thanks for the replies guys. I will try to increase the memory partition and turn of VM and some extensions. I may even make a specific boot for CM. Thanks again for the advice! tim

Don't know if this helps at all, but on my 9600/350 with 448 MB RAM, with 100 MB given to CM, the games works just fine. And yes, I have one of those IxMicro (??) cards in it, not even truly 3D, I believe. Anyway, what I noticed that helped speed (apart from what the others already mentioned) is to make sure that you set your Monitor depth to, say 800x600 (in my case) *before* starting CM. For some reason, all at once the game got much faster, graphics are much more detailed (I can now even see grenades fly, Yay!! ), and a great time was had by all HTH (at least a lttle ) Kolonel FLW

 11.
quote:
Originally posted by Panther G: [QB] I don't have the software on my mac to zip the file and I have no other compression software.

Panther G, You may want to try MacZip. Read more about it here: Versiontracker Description page Haven't tried it (Have StuffIt), but it seems to work. Alternatively Michlos could use 'Stuffit for PCs'. It is being offered for $19.99. 12. "Any ideas?? Many thankxx in advance!! " Follow up! Fionn Kelly was so kind to answer my e-mail to him *muy pronto*. It seems that you can only re-play (in the VCR sense of the word) PBEMs if you have the r'ight' version of CM. I.E.: if you try to download a PBEM (or AAR) that was produced in an earlier version of CM, you're out of luck .... Won't work ... While this is hardly news, I still have to wonder why this is? I mean, differences between versions can hardly be so different, as to cause severe problems (crashing, crashing *real* hard)? This is puzzeling, to say the least  Freddy (Got Fionn's last name correct this time [ 08-10-2001: Message edited by: Kolonel FLW ]
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by ACTOR: I have also had issues with files I receive from people who are using a MAC. While I have heard that it is not supposed to make a difference, it does make a difference for me. I test quite a few scenarios and one of the folks that I test for runs a MAC. When I get his files if they are not zipped I can't load them. I am on a PC. My $0.02

FWIW, I can't load any AARs from Combatmission.com :-( I get an Error 3 Crash :-(( No clue why. Can't be e-mail problems, as I download the files from the website.... Any ideas?? Many thankxx in advance!! Freddy [ 08-10-2001: Message edited by: Kolonel FLW ]
