  1. Bamse IIRC the Ak5 is the Swedish-built version of the Belgian FN-FNC Cormand
  2. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Downsides... The main one has to be the 105mm gun. It just lacks the modern hitting power required to deal with later T-72s and on that a 120mm gun has. And, of course, fire-on-the-move is an impossibility. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> IIRC this is the reason the Swedish army turned in their S-tanks and (can you believe it!) Centurions about 5 yrs ago. Now we use Leo 2 Imps (the LeClerc broke down in the cold weather , and the Abrams were too expensive). Cormand
  3. Nooooo, the WP discussion all over again...
  4. Methinks the jumping off when firing main gun thing is a remnant of old SL/ASL thinking, where (IIRC) that was a rule. Cormand
  5. But then we wouldn't be able to gloat over our kills... <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>"My VG Smg squad killed 57 Americans" <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
  6. Thanks for the swift reply Moon. Yes, after the scenario I used the infobox for all my units, as I didn't loose a single unit I thought that all kills should be accounted for. None of my mortars showed a single kill, but I find it hard to believe that three 60mm mortars could cause 158 kills out of LOS. Or do you mean that only enemy units that are fully identified at the time of the casualty are counted for a squads kill-total? If so, shouldn't that be corrected when FOW lifts at the end of the battle? Cormand
  7. As you might have noticed, I'm somewhat obsessed with the unit statistics after a battle. In CE I played a rather aggressive US, at the end I won with only 10 men and a Sherman lost, causing a total of 210 casualties (62 KIA) , according to the AAR. When I stepped through my units, looking for Medal of Honour recipients I added up all casualties and noticed that my units had only caused 52 losses on the enemy. Who shot the other 158 Germans? Cormand
  8. I guessed it might be that, but "better safe than sorry". Thanks Fionn! Cormand
  9. Ok on the ammo, but why should the Heavy SMG squad's LMG have a higher FP at 100m than at 40? And on 250 and 500 m it has FP 32/19 as opposed to the VG squad at 30/18, a small difference but why?? Cormand
  10. First post in a long while, been busy with the demo . While looking at the info screen in CE I noticed that the stats for the LMG42 are different between a VG squad and a Heavy SMG one. The VG-LMG42 has firepower 50/45/30/18 and the SMG 20/38/32/19. Is this a typo or a difference between the weapons? Cormand
  11. Sergeant in the Swedish army, Mechanized Infantry Rgt, Tank commander (gotta love those Leopard 2 Imp's). Cormand
  12. "I looove the smell of burning napalm in the morning....." "Charlie don´t surf!" +lots of other pieces of wisdom
  13. BTS have stated that the sum of two half-squad's firepower, morale and range will be less than the full squad's. So my question is: How would a five man half-squad compare to an ordinary (ten man) squad which has taken five casualties? Cormand
  14. ---Disable lurker status--- To continue in the great nitpicking tradition: The AT-4 and Carl Gustav is the same weapon, it´s a swedish design from the 80's. And yes, it has a h*** of a backblast. ---Enable lurker status--- Cormand
