I'm somewhat relieved. I was wondering what I was going to do with my CMSF mouse pad.
-
This is achievable in CMSF. But only by "slow" command for vehicles while there is a "quick" command for the foot mobiles. It works for the most part.
-
Do we get a new CMBN mouse pad with our order?
I still have my CMSF mouse pad and use it all the time. I think the the new CMBN mouse pad will be a great addition!
This is important stuff here!

Look at Steel Beasts, another great game for its niche, and one with no substitute, even more so than CM has no real alternative, and for $100, their customer base is tiny.
Yes, but ESim's mainstay is developing high fidelity sims for military market.

Then there are always health and beauty items which BFC could get us all to buy...and then we could turn around and try to sell them to our friends and families and then they could sell them to their...wait...that's been done...damn...never mind.

It's interesting that a programmer can get the results he wants from a game that is programed in such a way that is not micromanaged, relatively speaking.

Just be glad you said nothing about the Bren tripod.

I wonder how many metres of RHA a spring-launched toothpick could penetrate?
Is it a toothpick with a tungsten core?

Hell yeah, I was unstoppable with
Check out MikeyDs badass tattoo!
Oh man...I hope that's disappearing ink.

You had me wondering.
-
No...you can't be a beta tester.

Since the last batch of screenshots were taken we changed things so only the Commander is exposed when the vehicle is unbuttoned. The testers were also not amused to have the Driver and Radiomen whacked for no good reason. Yes, while they are unbuttoned spotting goes up for those positions BUT that's not as important as keeping the crew alive.
From a gameplay perspective it's better to have the Commander more exposed because it's easier to see from higher camera angles and from longer distances. Don't worry about the look because Charles has the exposure coded separate from the polygons. Which means in game terms the Commander is far less exposed than he looks.

Not sure about the speed thing. Way to much micro management for me. But I've wondered about a mid way between unbuttoned and buttoned where the TC is not so exposed but still able to see up and over the top of the cupola.

@ The Capt,
It's not directed at you. And your missing my point.
On page 8 JasonC started a dissertation. On page 9 Steve mentioned that JasonC's point will get nowhere... and now it's spilled over this far.
If one should so desire to argue their point, by all means do so...BUT ON ANOTHER THREAD. And feel free to make reference to another thread (such as this one).
As to my point getting this thread further off topic, I'm done. Any further comments about my point getting even further off topic are on the next poster...at which point he/she shall burn in hell.
-
How about starting another thread so folks like myself dont have to wade through crap that is off topic and dont really care about?

Let me throw my two cents in.
When I helped test CMSF this is something we begged for. The answer was an emphatic "as much as we would like to, it will take too much time, effort, resources, beer and chips, etc..." (paraphrashing of course).
BFC is too small.
In other words: not gonna happen.

Anyone else find this pic with the GI stood on the crest of the hill beautiful?
Yes!
I half expected to see the shadow of him all the way down the hill with some propaganda at the bottom of the pic.
-
Yes! Thanks Jon. It was a fun read! Looking forward to the next DAR...whoever it is.
-
Yes! Good show. Thanks!

Yea...I'm bored and getting ahead of things. But my curiosity is getting the best of me and looking for a change here.
So I've searched through previous posts and found where Steve said there will be terrain tiles specific for Market Garden.
So does that mean polder fields will be proper polder fields or will the scenario designer have to make the terrain "wet".
I would imagine just "wet" wont cut it.
Going back to work now.

Yes, yes. The weekend is over...get back to work!

I like the way you think, Boris.

CORRECTION: I have to say that it was the original 3D miniatures game—which it more closely resembles—for computers.
Michael
I figured I'd same myself some time and I just cut and pasted:
After some research into the matter at hand, I discovered Mr. Emrys is absolutely correct.
Ah, yeah, you're absolutely right.
...Michael's assessment is quite right.
And after some thought, I decided that Emrys is absolutely correct.
...you´re - once again - absolutely correct...
