OK, just did a test. 5 Stugs, all given 90 turn with final point ten meters or less from point of turn. Each Stug given different movement order (fast, hunt, move, contact, reverse). All reached final point and continued to turn an extra 45 degrees. Results duplicated 4 times.

The problem is not that they make wide turns or even slide (is that modled?) but that they get to their end point and keep moving in little circles. I have also found that this doesn't happen only in fast or after a turn.

This thing is getting too heavy to lift like this. {BUMP}

It would be unfair even at "overrun" odds.

The PBA on CMBB.
Two sets of ten Soviet jeeps. Imobilized with no weapons in triangular formation at end of 100m bridge. Two Sturmtigers with two rounds of ammo each. 10 battle operation. Same OB in each battle.
Sitzkrieg.
Two companies of each side's best armor 100m apart. Flat map, clear terrain. No ammo, bogged. 1000 turns. Player who goes longest wins. In case of tie UN negotiation team will be called.

Well I know it is possible to greatly increase frag generation by how you shape the explosive cavity. For example if it is faceted it will give a better fragment yield. Maybe the Soviets did that, the report doesn't mention any examination of the shells other than that they were iron. American shells though do tend to break up into at least one or two large pieces with a bunch of small splinters rather than just a ton of small splinters.

Ok, I have just noticed this for the first time with a non-fast order. Stug ordered to hunt. Got to last waypoint and proceeded to begin a slow turn to the right. when turn ended he had turned through about 135 degrees. :mad: I think I still have the file if anyone wants it.
{I'm so proud of my little thread. Only a little while ago it was just a 0 reply baby now it is over 20. Soon it will be off to college and not phoning home. }

Same here. I'm always in the market for some fresh meat.
You might also pop over to the Peng thread. Just bring a thick skin though.

Pardon my ignorance but what exactly is a CMMOS mod? :confused: I downloaded a bunch of stuff (splash screens and such) and was just wondering what the difference is.
Thanks,

Maybe when I get a better internet connection I'll do some TCP/IP but for right now PBEM works just fine. The only problem is when people don't send turns as fast as you want. Then again you can never get turns as fast as you want them. Another hit against TCP is trying to set up games when you are in timezones 12 hours apart.

All ready on it KC. Sent my first report as Germans going back to play Sovs.

I can't help it if my opponent forgets how to turn on his computer and then puts sleep ahead of CM. He will pay for his lack of dedication. :mad:
At least we are talking about a game in progress. Why don't you old guys use a telephone, too worried about drooling into the mouthpiece?

Go Sooners!!!
Sorry back to the thread....
Raindrops keep falling on my head.
2 companies T34s must cross 1km bridge against a battalion of 81mm mortar spotters. Axis has 10 TRPs.
Alone...
One Allied sharpshooter must cross 2km of open ground. Axis forces consist of 4 flights of Stukas. (actually happened to me but the Stukas were OH58s )
Wacht am Rhein...
Poorly supplied but well armed Panzer troops must push through hilly, wooded, muddy terrain against thin defensive line before the skies clear and Allied bombers blast them back to the stone age...
oh wait this has already been done.

I got 19, I'm just waiting for you to send 21. Just re-sent it. Tell your boys we promise to give them a nice Vienese burial.

I don't think the AI really knows where it is going but only pays attention to where it is. You know what I mean?

This fits with the general philosophy of each army. In the U.S. the primary anti-personel weapon was the rifleman while fire support (mortars and arty) were primarily responsible for dealing with fortifications. The better blast characteristics tend to perform better against hard points than the Soviet rounds which are optimized for use against enemy troops without cover.

But your turn hasn't! Your guys busy ordering tombstones at "Grabsteinland?"SgtGoody...my bugs are coming.[ January 12, 2003, 06:34 PM: Message edited by: Sgtgoody ]

Wow, that one's going to leave a mark.

Good point. The original VG divisions were not what came to be known as VG but were regular infantry divisions.

Well I seem to have activated the panic circuit in my computer. Right after I post praise about the ability of Soviet tanks to go anywhere I bog a 34 on a road in deep snow. :mad: Oh well.
