Interesting read, for people like me, I hate trying to read on the computer monitor. So I took the liberty to copy the article and make it into a PDF file.

Wait a minute, have I miss something? Are you using 2.80 and opening up the mdr file?

This doesn't always work.....There's a chance the vehicle will flick to 'Destroyed' when the crew exits the map.
If it were the other way around (Marines into an Army truck), it would be easily doable (crew are listed separately to the vehicles in an Army Supply Platoon), but that doesn't really help you much.
Thanks, going to wait until I finish this dam Marine scenario
-
Ok, thanks I will give it a shot and see what happens.
-
Million dollar question How can I switch crews? I wont to switch the Marine crew and replace with Army crew. I have switch the crew in the editor and save the scenario. But when I start the scenario the Marine crew pops back into the vehicle along with the Army crew. There is probably a work around but I can't find anything in my notes about doing this. Does anyone know?

I don't know what it is, but when I look at this area The first thing came to mind was a SF Camp on top of that hill
Everything looks nice.

An update for those of you following along:
Unfortunately, I will not be able to finish this AAR until later this year. I'm going to be away for the next few months. I did my damnedest to get this finished before I had to leave, but in the end there just wasn't enough time.
However, I fully plan on finishing this AAR when I return. The good news is that there shouldn't be too many more updates until we reach the conclusion, so when I get back I should be able to bang out the last few parts. Apologies for the unexpected mid-AAR cliffhanger.
OK, so your going to be like those two authors on the book "Northern Fury". Were going to have to wait until the end of this year to get the book and to finish reading your AAR

Figured it works with 16 objects as well. Editor button matrix adapts automatically (4x4 = 16). So it´s then just a matter of expanding a flavor object group from *1.mdr to *16.mdr (* is placeholder for particular filename) to access all of them. I.e "stump1.mdr" up to "stump16.mdr". Still could be there´s even more than 16 flavor objects selectable, but haven´t tested yet. Now expanding stump section with the one available mod (burned & shattered stumps) and bits of my own stuff.
Unpack flavor generic buttons file below to mod folder as usual. Have fun expanding.
Late to the party as always. This is great news. As soon as I finished working on my blender project with the vehicles in CMBS, I'll start working on some 3d models that I download to add to the flavor objects that I wont to work on. Again great news RockinHarry.

Not trying to take anything away from other peoples post but thought I would post my little project.
I have finished working on the CMBS vehicles and just finished working on the spare tires and antennas for CMSF2. Here is a screenshot. Will start to add gear to the vehicles.

Thanks 37mm and Aquila-CM. It worked, I must of fell asleep during that briefing. I made sure to write it down in my notebook.

Thanks for replying back benpark.
Here is another screenshot of when I added backpacks to the sides of the M1152a1.
I can use the blender with no problem. After loading the mdr file to the z folder. Open up the scenario editor select M1152. I only see the m1152 with either one or two backpacks showing on the side of the M1152a1 bench. I want to see all four of the backpacks. Not one or none at all. That's not why I added four backpacks and only see one.
In the m1152 z folder, there is only three mdr files:
m1152a1.mdr
m1152a1-lod-2.mdr
m1152a1-lod-4.mdr
Now the million dollar question, "Do I have to add the four backpacks to the other two mdr files"?
-
I post a question here
and I need some help.
-
I got bitten by the Blender bug and trying to get the mdr file to work. What I did was place a spare tire/wheel and a antennae on the m1114. as you can see by the screenshot below.
The spare tire/wheel and the antennae were join as instructed. Everything got saved. I place the m1114.mdr file along with the bmp files in a separate folder and place it in the z folder. When I open up the scenario editor and select a m1114 vehicle it doesn't show the vehicle with a spare tire or antennae.
Can anyone help out?

Yeah, good explanation @JohnO... it beats my "method" of just covering up the hole with another hatch.
No problem. I have some boxes and medical cases that I'm going to place on top of the hatch to help cover it up. Now that I know how to join two objects to each other will do that right after my dental appointment this morning.

Very nicely done sir.....Those are all the rage around here!
PS - Is it my imagination or did you square up the hatch on the rear deck? @37mm - You may want to take a look at this mate.
Yes, I did, I've been doing some reading and watching a lot of youtube videos Right now watching videos on how to add textures.
Here showing the hatch close.
To close the hatch you have to use the rotate key (arrow). When you select it you will get this tool. Select either red, green, or blue which will rotate the object.
Hope this help.

Not sure if I want to post here, reason, seems every time I post nobody else post afterwards
But I will see what happens. thanks to Aquila-CM and Sbobovyc, I've taking the plunge and try my hand in using Blender. At first I was cussing at the monitors but after awhile everything is working.
I use the M1064A3 MC and try to change it to just a M113 medic. Still not finished, still have work to do on the interior.
Have some ideas to work on and trying to add the M577 and M997 Medic vehicle.

+1 Interesting and informative. Looking forward to the amphibious operation.
You and me both looking forward to the amphibious assault using CMANO to hit the beach.

Thanks!
I have, and I really enjoyed it. I think it is exceptionally well written, especially for a technothriller. In fact, one of the authors who goes by AirborneRifles over at Grogheads has done some amazing AAR writeups there, and was my initial inspiration to do my first CMANO AAR last year.
The only real issue I had with the book was that it ends just as the war gets going. I want more! Really hoping part 2 comes out as soon as possible.
Same here, the next book will be about the Iceland War. When I was reading it, I tried to put the book down, but picked it up to keep reading it. There is one Russian Airborne officer that I hope survives the war.
Have you tried the scenarios from Northern Fury?
.
-
llCptMillerll, have you had a chance to read the book "Northern Fury" it is written by two CMANO players. I'm just about done with it. I also play CMANO.

Oh, ok. I have it also. But I use the recording program "Action" and haven't had any problems with it, unlike GeForce Experience Program. Could never get it to work right.

What are you using to record?
