Gorgin
Here's a link to the flag that was generally used by DeGaulle's Free French from 1940 - 1945. There were a number of variants -- particularly naval ones, but all incorporated the red Cross of Lorraine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Flag_of_Free_France_1940-1944.svg
Retributar
I never knew about this 'Red Cross of Lorraine' flag!. What doe's the 'Red Cross' stand for?,...why is it there?.
Gorgin
The Cross of Lorraine has two horizontal bars (equidistant top to bottowm) with the bottom one being a bit longer. As the name suggests, its origins are in Lorraine in Eastern France, But it was the symbol of Joanne of Arc, thus its use by the Free French. It was dispalyed in red on the white vertical band of the French tricolour
dispalor
It's funny to have the symbol of Jeanne of Arc, if you are forced to stay in England...
Gérard Le Poer Trench
The free french capital was on the southwest coast of afrika. Most of the free french divisions were transferred to Afrika from England.
dispalor
Oh, that's interesting. de Gaulle was there too? And when did they arrive in France? When the invasion was already done? It's a shame, but I don't know anything about the french after 1940.
Gorgin
The Free French capital was Libreville, in what is today Gabon.
