Amona
In Global Gold, Mexiko joined Allies automatically sometime in 1942. In the scripts of AOD 1939 scen., there is the same event for Mexiko to join Allies on a variable date from 1942 onwards. Have now played about 20 AOD games, and NOT IN A SINGLE GAME, Mexiko joins Allies at all. It seems this script is broken.
Hubert Cater
Hi Amona, This is actually a bug correction now in AoD as you'll have to swing Mexico to the Allies first before it will have a chance to join as it previously did under GOLD. Here is the thread where this issue first came up for reference: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=110639 Hubert
Amona
Okay, that explains it. But I disagree with this solution, as Mexiko had a leftist government in the 30s and later a conservative with close relations to USA. Never was it as far pro-Axis as it is here at start of the game. Having all the south american countries join Allies over time, but Mexiko not at all unless you diplo it, is highly unhistorical.
Hubert Cater
Good points and I think the best fix here would be to set Mexico at 0% Allied at the start and this way they'll join the Allies as they did historically unless the Axis player diplomatically pursues them and swings them to the Axis. Amona
Maybe this would even be best for all central and south american countries. Let them join Allies historically, unlless Axis diplos them. That would balance historical accuracy with more options for the players to explore historical whatifs. Hubert Cater
Correct and the nice thing is that this is already how the Central and South American countries are already setup with of course the exception of Mexico as you discovered.
