IMHO
Running the game on Win7 (64 bit) + GTX690 at the screen res of 2'560*1440. Have three problems: 1. Clicking "Editor" button on the main screen freezes the game. Music stops and mouse cursor changes from CMSF one into Windows. Running in various compatibility modes does not help. 2. Marine sniper units have black rectangles instead of unit icons. Zooming in or out, panning does not help. So far didn't have this issue with other units but didn't play much with this hardware setup. 3. Status lines showing what unit members are doing are stretched way far to the right instead of showing up in the left corner.
IMHO
Some more of it: -"Hide" command does not work. Pressing H key or pressing "Hide" GUI button produces "Pause" command instead. -"Acquire" button is enabled for infantry units outside of vehicles. But pressing it produces "Smoke" command.
Schrullenhaft
I'm not aware of any graphical anomalies after the 1.32 patch. Though the game is not 'perfect', the things you are describing don't sound normal. I assume that your installation is just of CMSF + Marines, is that correct (a bundle of both games) ? If so, then this is the installation method you would want to use. You may want to uninstall your game and reinstall it and see if that makes a difference: 1. Install CMSF + Marines. This should bring you up to version 1.10/1.11. 2. Launch CMSF. You should most likely get directly into the game since you have already activated the license key (which should remain in effect even after an uninstall). The version number is listed at the bottom middle of the main menu. 3. Check for the problems that you're seeing and see if they are still present. Make note of which ones are or are not present. 4. Install the 1.21 patch. Make sure to patch for only the 'base CMSF' game and the Marines module, otherwise you will get a request to activate the British Forces license key that you do not have. If that happens, then just reinstall the 1.21 patch and make the correct selections. 5. Launch CMSF and you should be at version 1.21 and again check for the same issues. Make note of any differences. 6. Install the 1.31 patch and make the correct selections for CMSF + Marines. 7. Launch CMSF and you should be at version 1.31. Again check for the issues to see if they are present. 8. Install the 1.32 patch. 9. Launch CMSF and you should be at 1.32. Check for the issues and see if they are still present. If the problems were present throughout the patches, then I would guess that there may be some sort of OpenGL bug involving the GTX 6xx series cards and whichever Nvidia driver you're running.
IMHO
So the problem is actually 1.32 patch. With the base version (1.11) everything works fine. Upgrading to the 1.32 creates the problems stated above. I didn't try intermediate patches so cannot say which one specifically ruins the thing.
Schrullenhaft
Uh... You NEED to install the intermediate patches with CMSF. The patches are NOT 'comprehensive'. Instead they are 'incremental', requiring files from previous patches. Going from 1.11 to 1.32 is NOT supported and you will be missing files. However I'm not sure that would lead to exactly the problem you're reporting (which seems to be within the executable code, rather than some external resource file). To go to 1.32 you need to download and install: 1.21 patch. 1.31 patch. 1.32 patch. With each of the patches you will need to make the correct selections regarding the modules installed. Otherwise you will either get requests to activate modules you do not have or the one(s) you have will disappear (if they are not updated). To correct any issue like this, just re-run the patch and make the correct selections.
IMHO
Yeah. It was my mistake of not reading the patch description. After I installed all patches incrementally everything started to go smoothly. Thanks for your help!
