Russian reviews are coming. We will post links when any of the big online mags put post their articles. Overall the reception is fine. Most of the complains is similar to what we had with IL-2 - oh your data is wrong, mine is correct and such.
My favourite complain on the forum this far is "Your game sucks, I already finished 2 campaigns this far (notice from me - probably 20-40 hours gameplay time). Ok can't write more - going back to play the game."
Guys Russian version will be slightly ahead of w/w release. We need some extra time to get all translations done, etc, etc.
Demo - now it is almost there. With BF for final testing.
The game keeps record of individual soldiers and their kills. You can even decorate and promote soldiers yourself for heroic deeds. Think this is better than kill rings
With voices the size of the file will increase... what about the 56k people, can't you launch a no-voice demo? With these two files the publicity would be greater and more people would download the demo to check if the game is a good game to buy. Lots of companies use this as marketing.

Ok then ToW is hopefully going to be that one eyed tactical game.
And with your help we can expand it, make it better, add new theaters of war, etc, etc.
FoW is a completely different game. It is a sequel to Soldiers: Heroes of World War II. It is an action game with a lot of arcade elements.
Yes, we produced this game, but so what? We also produced Pirates of the Caribbean or Perimeter.
Why should ToW be any similar to any of those? )))
well I think you are maybe confusing the statement they made that its not a "click-fest". After watching this video I believe they mean that you can't JUST be a speed-demon-micro'r and expect to win battles with your mouse/twitch speed. You have to know the game very well and use a lot of tactics to be successful. If you have both speed skills AND a great understanding of the game then you probably are better than someone who doesn't have both.
It doesn't make a lot of sense that speed doesn't equal 'better' in a real-time game to a certain degree. But I suspect there is a ceiling of speed skill that once you hit a certain point you don't continue to benefit much from getting faster b/c the gameplay is only a certain speed (which can be modded probably, if you want it slower). So hopefully this ceiling is low enough to suit everyones gameplay style while still rewarding the micro-masters some for being able to do what they do. </font>
Taking enemy small arms was VERY often. A lot of Soviet soldiers would trade their unreliable early war weapons for a good old MP-40. I have seen a few war movies about special forces and scouts - they would often abandom standard equipment in the favour of German.
Plus there is a lot of requests about infantry missions etc - we are now thinking about maybe changing the demo content in the favour of showing not the various armies etc, but more diffrent gameplay - tank heave battle vs infanty heavy battle. Stay tuned!
