Core units question.

Say i import core units in a first campaign mission, and I change the name of one of the leaders.

First, so the core units go on do I have to import them from the previous scenario or an I import them from another "base" (not used) scenario?

if so, if I change the name will it affect the name of the soldier for the next mission?
