JohnCalvin
If I can do it, anyone can. It's an easy and fun thing to do. Now there may be a better way, but many may not know how to do it at all. So here goes. The splash screen is the screen that loads when you first start the game. It has the scenario, multiplayer and other buttons on it. The original splash screen is OK, but this beauty deserves better. Here's how to do it. Find the splash screen BMP, which is number 11002 (in CMBB). Make a copy of it and put the copy somewhere where you can find it. You may mess things up or not like the new one. Open it with your basic windows paint program. Now, before you do anything else, find a picture you really like. It can be anything from a nice shot of a Tiger tank to last year's Uncle Earl birthday celebration. OK, go back to the paint program and the original splash screen, which is now visible. Click "cut." It should be gone (the screen is white). Go back to your picture, right click and copy. Go back to the paint program with a white screen. Click edit and then paste. Your picture of Uncle Earl or whoever should now be there. One more thing. You can add text. Go to the text button on paint, click it and add whatever text you like. We're almost done. "Save as" the new paint file as 11002 and put it somewhere you can find it quickly, like your desktop. Go to your desktop (or whereever you saved it) right click, and copy the new file. Go to the CMMB folder and go to the BMP folder. You can either open it or right click and paste. You should have a window, which asks you if you want to replace the existing 11002. If not, you need to rename your new file 11002. Click yes and you are done. Open CMMB and viola, your new personalized splash screen featuring Uncle Earl in all his glory is there.
junk2drive
only caution is 11001 is for 800x600 and 11002 is 1024x768 players. 11003 is the bfc logo that can be customised also. ms word can be used to make custom titles to copy and paste in ms paint. my pto 11003 has a cm logo on top, a red over white "pacific front" at bottom and a color painting of a dogfight over henderson field. add to that the theme song from baa baa black sheep tv show.
