mcdonnelljp Posted September 4, 2002 Share Posted September 4, 2002 OK, details, Athlon 1 Ghz, 1Gig ECC memory, G400 Max dualhead running version 5.85.023 drivers, DirectX 8.1, SB Live! Basic, Windows 2000 SP3. Game starts, then once I begin a scenario, immediately on reaching the setup screen, I either get a complete lockup (no mouse movement, requires a reboot) or complete screen corruption and lockup. Oddly enough, CMBO, which used to work, now also exhibits similar behaviour, though literally every other game I own performs well. Appreciate it is an esoteric configuration, but has anyone got any thoughts as to the cause of problem? Schrullenhaft Posted September 4, 2002 Share Posted September 4, 2002 What other games are you playing, are they DirectX 3D games or OpenGL ? If you run the DirectX Diagnostic (C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DXDIAG) under the Display tab do the diagnostics pass ? Are all three settings enabled ? I have no idea if the Beta 5.85.028 drivers are any better than what you're currently running. Can you remember what sort of changes may have occurred since CMBO last ran correctly on your computer ? Do you have the appropriate chipset drivers installed (which can make a difference to the video card) ?
