Michael Emrys
I've noticed that both allies and axis tanks fire on the move....Is this correct? I thought the Axis tanks especially only fired stationary Yeah. Some US tanks had a stabilizer that theoretically would have allowed firing on the move, but normally it only allowed quicker laying of the gun once the tank had stopped. There was also some problem with the stabilizer (I don't recall just what) that caused some crews to disable it. Michael
Erik Springelkamp
There was also some problem with the stabilizer (I don't recall just what) that caused some crews to disable it. I read it was dangerous for the crew when that gun moved violently inside the turret.
rune
Erik, I believe you are correct, that seems familiar to me. Rune

Yeah, I can see how a few mashed fingers would have you reaching for a wrench...or a hammer. Michael
Dadekster88
Reminds me of what we would do to the noobs that'd report for the first time to the motor pool. We'd give them a hammer and tell them to check for soft spots on the Sheridan so they'd proceed to walk around it tapping on it and intently listening for something akin to a hollow spot. It never got old. ...which ties into there are no soft spots in an AFV relative to a human body.
