Guest scottdt
I have some minor graphics problem. First, the intro movie does not play correctly. When it starts, I get a series of thin colored lines that flash across the screen. Second, the interface screen---where you select the initial game options---seems quirky with my mouse pointer disappearing on occasion. Finally, I am unable to save screen shots. When I hit Print Screen, and paste it into a paint program, I get, again, a series of thin colored lines that comprise the picture---similar to the intro movie. Any ideas? Guest Big Time Software
Please describe your system hardware and software setup. Also, make sure you have the latest DirectX (v7.0a), and the latest drivers for your 3D video card. Charles
Schrullenhaft
To play the intro movie you'll need QuickTime (which you may already have). Here's the download for QuickTime 4: Apple QuickTime 4: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ I'm not sure what's going on with your screen captures. Your card is based on the 3dfx Voodoo Banshee chipset which incorporates the Voodoo 2 into its core for 3D operations. Here's the latest drivers from 3dfx for the Voodoo Banshees: 3dfx Voodoo Banshee (1.04.00, 2-9-00): http://www.3dfxgamers.com/drivers/voodoo_banshee/voodoo_banshee_win9x_new.stm There's also a Banshee control utility out there. I have no idea how helpful it may be, but it may be worth using. Reactorcritical (go to Banshee section): http://www.reactorcritical.com/download.shtml You may want to try Hypersnap to perform your screen captures and see if it improves your results: Hypersnap: http://www.hyperionics.com/ Although audio isn't your problem, here are the latest audio drivers for your card (they may be incorrect - there's possibly a difference between the PCI64 and the 64V): http://www.creative.com/support/files/download.asp?reg=0&OS=Win98∏=sbpci64&select=Get+Files
Guest scottdt
Thanks for the help! I'll try updating my drivers and see what happens! Thanks again!

Now the movie plays but the game locks up! After making sure I have DirectX7a (I do) and playing with CM display options, I was forced to go back to my old drivers. Something about the new drivers just doesn't agree with my video card. So I guess it is better to have a working game (even without the cool smoke and transparent buildings---a few graphical features I noticed with the new drivers) than a working movie. Thanks anyway. Of course, if you have any other ideas.... :-}
Schrullenhaft
Unfortunately Jaton doesn't provide their own drivers. Their website points back to 3dfx for driver updates. It might be worth experimenting with the previously available drivers that 3dfx has posted for the Banshee, maybe one of them will fix your problem. Check your Jaton provided version to see if it is actually older than what is provided on this site: 3dfx Banshee drivers (1.00.00 - 1.04.00): http://www.3dfxgamers.com/drivers/voodoo_banshee/voodoo_banshee_win9x.stm Since the Banshee is a discontinued 3dfx product there very well likely may be no more updates (though there are exceptions, sometimes). If the issue becomes annoying enough for you, then purchasing a new video card would be your best bet. The GeForce MXs are due out soon. They will probably provide the best price/performance available (approx. US$150). However I'm not sure if they will have any problems with your ALI AGP implementation (some newer cards may have possible problems with SuperSocket 7 chipsets/motherboards). Maybe one will work. As for a new video card, I am thinking about it. I may email CybermMax and see if they can recommend a good one for my specific system. Again, thanks for all the help!
