offtaskagain
Anyone know of a way to boot up my system after I screw up something in the registry? Specifically I tried to force my board to run AGP 2x, which I know it's capable of. But I messed it up somewhere and now I can't boot with either the Ti4600 or the TNT 2. Edit: I'm running XP. Andrew H.
I'm not at all an expert on this, but can you start to boot? Can you boot into safe mode? Does your computer do a power on self test (i.e., do you hear a "beep" just as the computer starts to try and boot?"

It will POST, and will usually get to a disk check where it promptly freezes. I merged a new entry into the registry as shown in another thread here, and I think I forced the board into 1x AGP which Idoubt it's capable of.
offtaskagain
Problem solved. I booted in safe mode with vga mode enabled and fixed the registry string.
