maximum research issue

When I try to purchase any research funding playing as Japan in the default 39-45 game I get the message 'Maximum research funding already reached'.

I get this no matter what unit I try to research.

An example is heavy bomber research- 125 * 1 0(5)

This is stopping me from purchasing the research.

I have 397 points available with a total research funding of 625.

Don't understand what's going on, apologies if I am misunderstanding this.

Japan can only research up to a maximum of 650. If you're already spending 625 any extra research will take you above the maximum of 650, which the system won't allow.

I have only just started the senario. I have not any research yet.

And as I said the system is telling me that I have 397 points to use.

When starting the 1939 Scenario Japan has already got 375 points in the research 'kitty' which gives you an extra 275 to spend on research (650 - 375 = 275).

However, from your initial post you seemed to indicate that you already have 625 invested in research. You can't get any research chits for less than 100, therefore, any additional spend would take you over the 650 limit.

The 397 points are your total MPP's you can spend on research, units and diplomacy.

Unless I've completely misunderstood. :-) If that's the case please could you provide a screenshot of the research screen so that I can see what's going on.

How much money are they worth.

How much money are you allowed to use.

Ignore your ballance, check you maximum allowance.

This is also configurable. You can raise or lower the maximum research levels in the editor. So, when you get some feel for how the system works you can use the editor to explore other possibilities:)
