John Kettler Posted July 23, 2010 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Was at Borders today and spotted a couple of fascinating titles: Battle Rattle: the Stuff A Soldier Carries by Hans Halberstadt. Covers uniform, weapons, web gear, packs, body armor, etc., in large format with numerous high resolution color pics. Definitely a Steve book! The other, The Horse Soldiers by Adam Stanton, is yet another reason why we need equines (also donkeys, mules and camels) in CMx2. Seems the horse soldiers (first I ever heard of them) were Green Berets who conducted a highly mobile campaign against the Taliban, ultimately first seizing Mazar-e-Sharif, then holding it against a full-blown counterattack.
