What is the difference between rubble and flat rubble?

In the editor you can choose to have rubble or flat rubble.

I was hoping that rubble would be able to give my armour hull down status but that's not it.

Is there any tactical difference between the two or is it just eye-candy?

I did a forum search but couldn't find anything.

There is no difference tactically at all - all the other rubbles relate to the various types of buildings, flat rubble is just generic with no side walls. Visual effect only.
