Ruhan
Here is the problem I'm having with the demo. As soon as I try to run it, immediately it goes to a black screen with two horizontal bars of static running through the middle of the screen. At 1024x768 they are about 3/4 inch from top to bottom and are seperated by about an inch of space between them. The space between them is centered top to bottom on the monitor. Specs: Athlon 1.4 512 DDR VIA 333 board with latest 4 in 1 GeForce 2 Ti 64MB with 41.09 drivers Creative PCI 512 with latest drivers I tried at 16 and 32 bit color as well as 1024x768 and 800x600 resolutions. Anyone seen this problem or any ideas on what to check. Currently playing BF1942, C&C Generals, Counter-Strike all with no problems. Thanks for any help. Schrullenhaft
I assume that CMBB is trying to select a resolution here. I'd guess that you're being offered a resolution with a corresponding refresh rate that is too high for your monitor to display. How long do you let this sit for ? If you let it sit for several more seconds it should attempt a lower refresh rate. If you hit Enter it will select the currently displayed resolution and refresh rate. If that's the case, then you need to delete the Prefs file in the directory you installed the CMBB Demo in. You may also run into problems with black screens in the game if you have FSAA set to anything other than 4X or (preferably) Off. There's also a WM_TIMER problem with the NVidia and ATI drivers under Win2K/XP (this is a Microsoft patch for Win2K/XP that fixes some multimedia-related security issues, but causes problems with CM). The best drivers to use are the 30.82/30.87's for CM (you can use FSAA without problems). You can search the rest of the forum for other display issues and what people think.
Ruhan
It was simply checking for adjustments like you said. I guess it starts with the highest scan rate and works down because the first one I could even read was 140 Hz, Finally got usable around 100 Hz though I'm pretty sure my monitor is only supposed to go to 90 so I skipped passed a couple until it was at 72. Looks like it will work fine now. Thanks
