PotatoJohnny
I just reinstalled my OS do I: need to get rid my license too install PTO on my laptop at some point? Is the new install on my desktop going to use up two licenses now? If so, what should I do so that my desktop only uses one license?
Moon
It's a little fuzzy Theoretically, even an OS reinstall should not trigger you to use another license, in fact, not even prompt you to enter the key again. But like I said it's a little fuzzy, and there are three possibilities what can happen next: 1) you are not asked to license. The same activation key is used even after reinstalling OS 2) you are asked to re-license but the licensing server recognizes your PC and re-assigns the same key intance: you're using one key 3) you are asked to re-license and the licensing server treats your PC as a new machine: two instanes are used. You don't need to worry about it now. If, in the future, you want to reinstall elsewhere, simply submit a ticket at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk and we can always reset your key if it was re-assigned to the same PC. The key to avoid this in the future is to un-license the game first before re-installing your PC. That way your key instance is "freed up" and can be used elsewhere without all the hassle.
PotatoJohnny
Thank You. Now that you mention it I don't think I was asked for a license key.
SeaMonkey
Hmm, I'm wondering Moon, occasionally I've done a low level reformat in the bios and I'm just wondering if I would need to deactivate my key for that machine before the format. It hasn't come up yet as I have a couple of SC2s, but just in case I dump Vista and go to XP.
