Really screwed now

Well, i uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I reinstalled the 1.01 patch as well. Now the game will not run at all. I keep getting unhandled exceptions and page faults with combat mission.exe. I have had the game since Monday and it has performed flawlessly until now. I can't even uninstall it now because it won't let me. And, when i CAN get it to reinstall (again), it defaults to C:\Windows instead of C:\Program Files\Cmbo. Will not let me change it either ??

Preacher,

1. Check your harddisk (scandisk) for bad clusters

2. Defragment the harddisk

3. Check for possible viruses

4. Make sure, that no other programs/tools/etc. are running as background tasks

5. Try to change your graphics settings (lower color depth and/or resolution)

6. Make sure that you have the current drivers for all your devices (sometimes, after installing Directx you have to re-install soem device drivers).

7. Do not overclock your system or your graphics card.

Well..installed and running for now. Had to do a manual install, however (??)

Still would like to know why it wouldn't reinstall "from scratch."

Sounds suspiciously like what happened to me a few months ago. Turned out to be a nasty, nasty virus...had to reinstall windows using a workaround. Do you have an antivirus program running? Like McAfee? If not, would suggest you consider getting one macht schnell.
