As you know with my VoodooII, 12MB, I cannot run "Smoke - Hi Res"; I mean, I can, BUT it looks like big transparent triangles; so, I opt for the "compatible" setting, which is OK, 4 sure. BUT - I was wondering if anyone here knows if I can set anything on the Advanced Settings Option for my VDII Card that would allow me to enjoy the Higher Res smoke, Explosions etc. like many of the rest here. Schrullenhaft Posted September 7, 2000 Share Posted September 7, 2000 Unfortunately I don't think you will be able to get a "high-quality" smoke with a Voodoo2 based card. The drivers don't handle the transparency animation well (at least that is my guess). No setting will change this. Unfortunately, I don't forsee a fix for this anytime soon since the Voodoo 2's are discontinued and 3dfx probably won't update the drivers. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Slayer Posted September 7, 2000 Share Posted September 7, 2000 Have the same problem with a Guillemot MaxiGamer 3D² SLI (24 MB memory!). Seems to be a driver problem.
