John Kettler
While rereading then IDF armor battalion CO Kahalani's THE HEIGHTS OF COURAGE, a tremendous treadhead book and piece of military history (his Centurion unit was critical to stopping the Syrians in the Vale of Tears), it suddenly dawned on me that he was describing having his tanks fired on by what looks so nice and new in CMSF--the BRDM SAGGER. As best I can tell, it first saw combat in 1973! CMSF is set in 2008. Now, we're all accustomed to the T-55, produced in such quantities and so widely exported as to seem humdrum, but I thought I'd post this as a reminder of the incredibly long service life some weapons have.
