MAC OSX Help needed

Recommended Posts

Help please! I recently installed Mac OSX on my iMac. CM loads, I get the intro movie, etc., I choose the scenario, and it begins loading. When game progresses to the "Loading 3D Graphics" screen, it goes no further. I have the background noises, i.e., tank motors, fire crackling, but the program goes no further than this screen. The game ran like a champ on OS 9.1...Can anyone help?

CM doesn't run under Classic Mode in OS X. The Classic RAVE extension would need to be removed (which will be replaced once you boot back into OS X again). It's possible that CM could run in 'software rendering' mode if the Classic RAVE extension is removed, but I'm not absolutely sure about this. This will require that you delete the current copy of the CM Prefs file.

The most enjoyable experience will be to boot into OS 9.x rather than OS X. In a native 0S 9.x environment you can achieve the hardware rendering which is much faster and has better texture detail. Typically you'll need to have two 0S 9.x installations on your drive - one for the Classic Folder in OS X and another clean one (possibly on another partition) that you can boot into.

I'd suggest doing a search on 'Classic RAVE' and/or OS X in the Tech and possibly Main Forums and you'll come across a lot more info on this.
