1st Shirt
Using an ATI Radeon 7500, latest ATI drivers, Windows XP OS, 512 RAM, Compaq Presario 5BW284. During game play, once I hit the go button, the "computer thinking" bar will go completley white, as will the blue bar in the Global info screen. When I select a unit, the Vehicle/Heavy weapons icon and the movie controls/time counter will white out both during the actual move and when I replay. If I move off the selected unit, the white out goes away. This is not consistent, but happens often enough to be annoying. Schrullenhaft
Which particular version of the Catalyst drivers are you using, 3.1 ? This is most likely a problem with the Catalysts. I don't know if the drivers will behave differently with different Radeon boards/chips, but it is possible. Have you installed the control panels that go along with that driver. Each set of Catalysts has a separate download for the ATI control panels.
1st Shirt
Using 3.1 with the control panel installed.
Schrullenhaft
There have been mixed results with that Catalyst version on these boards. Some people claim no problems whatsoever, while others have all sorts of things going wrong for them. You may want to consider going back to an earlier Catalyst version. If you decide to do this, uninstall the 3.1 Catalysts first (reboot) - next install your video card as a 'Super VGA PCI' (reboot) - then install an earlier Catalyst version (2.3 worked with few problems apparently, though you could go all the way up to 3.0). I don't know if this will solve your problem, but a number of 'graphical glitches' can often be attributed to video drivers.
1st Shirt
Okay, I'll give that a shot, thanks!
1st Shirt
Thanks for the tip about the drivers, that's what fixed it. I worked my way up to 2.3. Any version above that, and the anomolies kicked in again. Thanks once again.
Timmothias
i'm bringing up this old topic because i'm having the same problems. are there any other ways around this without having to uninstall my drivers and then reinstall an older version and all that mess. that would really not be a very fun time for me and also i wouldnt want to make that many changes for one game when it will affect every other game as well.
