Graphic glitches with Inspiron 8200/Radeon 9000

I am having problems with my Inspiron 8200 with a 64MB ATI Radeon 9000....I've installed the latest video drivers and video BIOS from Dell. The actual play screen looks great. The status area at the bottom has a few areas (victory area & unit icon) that flash repeatedly. Seems like it is showing the redraw. Also, my mouse cursor disappears when not moving, and flashes when being moved. The rest of the graphics look awesome....Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks for the reply...not sure how to downgrade to the drivers you mentioned...The Mobility Radeon drivers are supposedly only available from the laptop provider. In order to downgrade, I assume I'd have to download some new drivers and edit some .inf files to add the mobility sections...
