ddickey1baseball
Hello, First, I have a P3, 256MB RAM, 8MB Nvidia Vanta vid card, and CMBO would run slow only on huge and large maps, but still playable. So then I looked on this site and it said something about updating nvidia cards to 45.23 and it would fix this problem. So I did that, thinking that it would be perfect now, it made it worse. Even the tiny maps have a lot of lag. So I was just screwing around with the settings one day and I figured out that the trees are what causing most of the lag. I turn them off and the game runs perfect on all types of maps. What is the problem? How can I fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Schrullenhaft
For a video card of that age I wouldn't recommend anything above the 30.82/30.87 driver. The Vanta (a variation of the original 'TNT') will not benefit in any manner from the latest driver. All the tweaks, etc. are geared towards newer GeForce cards (4 and FX series). I highly suggest uninstalling your current video driver (using a program like Detonator R.I.P. which you can get from Guru 3D), then rebooting (before installing a new driver) and then installing 30.82/30.87 or older. Trees will make quite a bit of difference (along with the number of buildings, etc.) since there can be quite a few of them on the map and they end up eating VRAM.
