First Click on CMBB interface taskbar goes to desktop?

For some time now, when I click on any icon in the lower interface taskbar ( like "DONE" after watching a turn or "BRIEFING" to review orders ) it drops out of game and goes to the desktop.

If I click DONE it also goes to desktop and has registered the "Click" as clicking on the taskbar on my desktop, in this case directly over my VOLUME control, which is open when it sends me to desktop.

Then I click on the CMBB tab in the desktop taskbar which is still running, re-enter the game and I am then able to click on the CMBB taskbar icons and they work.

Any ideas what may be happening here? Note, this does not occur in CMAK.
