senka_saw
Im having a similar problem to some others, except I cant even run the configuration (cfg.bat). I'm no genius here but I know that I've got all the updated drivers and codec (i.e. Divx5.1, directx 9.0c, and video drivers) and I've gotten rid of MMswitch.ax and I3codec. I have no spyware on my system, its not connected to the internet. All I can get to run is the video, after that it always reverts back to the desktop. I've even tried reducing the sound acceleration. I know that this horse has been beat to death already, but I'm just wondring if someone might have little more insight than me...because of the situation (the fact that I can't even run cfg.bat) I'm beginning to wonder if there is something much more fundamental that I'm missing here. Moon
Hmm... well, the fact that you cannot even run the config file indeed is very odd. Perhaps just a case of a bad installation or a corrupted file? Have you tried deinstalling and reinstalling? Did the demo run on your system? Moon
OK, here are a couple of other things to try: - look in your game installation directory (e.g. C:/Programs/Battlefront/T-72/)... do you see a file there called autodetect.txt? Or a file "last_bug.txt"? If so, send them to me to martin@battlefront.com - secondly, there is a file in which all preferences and settings are saved. I am not 100% sure and cannot doublecheck right now, but I think it's located inthe DATA/config/ directory and is called config.pd. Try deleting the file (make a backup of it first) and see if it doesn't help getting config.bat to run... Martin
senka_saw
Ok...tried the config.pd thing and nothin. Thereis an autoetect.txt but it is empty, and last_bug.txt has the 0000: Error: Unknown error. Which I guess explains a little but i still dont understand why cfg.bat wont even run...at least then i would have something to work with. Also, have tried uninstalling and reinstalling already.

Moon
Have you tried deleting the config.pd file? (best thing is to rename it to e.g. config_bak.pd so it's not lost permanently; you can always replace it later) Martin
senka_saw
Yeah, I've tried that, it didn't seem to have any affect other than the computer thought for a few seconds longer before it didn't load cfg.bat
