Schrullenhaft
Do you have the BFC/Internet version of the game or the CDV/retail version ? How long ago did you purchase your copy of CMBO ? The latest and last version was 1.12 and that was shipping on CDs by March of 2001 if I recall correctly (which means you could possibly already have version 1.12 and wouldn't need the patch). I'm not sure why you're getting that error or what is actually causing it. The patch for the BFC version is a self-extracting PKZIP archive. You can use a program such as WinZip to manually extract the files (you'll have to place them in their proper locations, I believe).
treadhead46
I have the 2000 original CD version. So I do need this patch.Or at least would like to have it.I can still play CMBO but I guess this patch is necessary to improve the game. Still have that problem so I cant get it to install. I have Winzip. Windows 98. Any other help would be appreciated. JJ
Schrullenhaft
Winzip should be able to open this file. If it can't, then the file is corrupt. Using Winzip bypasses the self-extracting archive's built-in extracting engine. This may be the cause of your problem. Use Winzip and extract the files manually. If Winzip can't extract the files then your download is corrupt. There is nothing special about the self-extraction. You will have to manually move the files whether the self-extractor does it or Winzip does it. There is no special install routine that automatically executes.
