Windows XP Pro 64 bit with DEP on

When i tried to run my fresh installment of Dropteam it didn't start, instead reported an error by windows.

I got it working with these settings below.

Do this as user "Administrator" or another with high enough priveleges.

Go to: "Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Settings -> Data Execution Prevention"

1) Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is on.

Add the following rules to the DEP list:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Battlefront\DropTeam\DropTeam.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Battlefront\DropTeam\Update.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Battlefront\DropTeam\UpdateCmd.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Battlefront\DropTeam\bin\DropTeam.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Battlefront\DropTeam\bin\DropTeamP4Release.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Battlefront\DropTeam\bin\XCrashReport.exe

C:\WINDOWS\Runservice.exe

The last rule "Runservice.exe", is a program running as an service, in order for this to work it has to be started. Be use to check if it has started. Go to: "Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services" to check this, it's called "LicCtrl Service".

2) Although i'm normally doing my normal windows stuff working with limited user rights, this game wil somehow not start with these limited rights. Solution is to use the "Runas" option, so it can run as user "Administrator". You have to supply the Administrator password though.

My 2 cents.

Cheers and good luck,

Stainless.

PS: DropTeam Linux version works perfect with latest Gentoo 2006.1 amd64 installment.
