Caseck
Very solid release. Game has a good feel. I haven't found any genuine bugs, but I've only been playing multiplayer servers. Looking forward to 1.0.1 and beyond. Haven't seen ANY marketing, wondering if you're waiting for infantry or what? You gotta' put an O.G.R.E. MkV somewhere in the adverts too... Moon
Caseck, we don't have millions to spend on advertising And unlike retail releases from the big boys, we don't rely on day one sales, so we don't usually do much in pre-release ads. So the machine just began rolling, and the first ads will be going up on sites like insidemacgames.com, linux-gamer.com, omgn.com and a whole bunch of others. There's a Google ad campaign, too, which soon will have those new video ads that they allow. If you guys have any recommendations of where to advertise a game like DropTeam (besides the obvious like Gamespy, Gamespot etc. which are a *little* expensive), feel free to email me at martin@battlefront.com Thanks! Caseck
Absolutely! I understand your budget constraints! Will there be a boxed set at some point? I will continue my guerilla marketing campaign if you guys jump off that bridge... (Always put my pet-games in front, like a new release if I browse through best-buy and so forth... You gotta' be willing to fight for what you want!) Here's some good sites... http://www.mpogd.com/ http://pcgames.gwn.com/ http://www.wargamer.com/ http://www.simhq.com/ http://pc.ign.com/ [ June 04, 2006, 12:01 AM: Message edited by: Caseck ]
Seymour
Word of Mouth is a powerful marketing tool as well. I plan on telling all my gamer friends about this one. I'm very impressed so far. I can't wait to see an OGRE. That's gonna rock!
Moon
Caseck, if you mean with "boxed" if the game will be in stores... yes, at some point, like all our games. The first boxed release will be in Russia soon, other markets will have to wait until the end of the year or next year. It's part of our direct-sales plan. Of course we're selling a "boxed" version, too. The mail version comes in a neat DVD box and will be available in a couple of weeks or so.
